Luxe chipping

I have a 2016 that is less than six months old but I'm finding small chips in the paint all around the hood, doors, etc. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm very careful with where I park and know it's not from other car doors.

It's getting very aggravating to have this happening to a new car.

Is anyone else seeing this with the Luxe paint? It must be terribly thin. Even my wifes black 2014 Flex is chip free.

I have a 2016 in Platinum Dune but often times i notice that when you drive small gravel and rock chips will cause the chips to show up in hte paint.  Especially in premium paint colors.  My previous MKS was in the Sangria Red paint scheme and it happened quite often.  I suppose those premium paint colors which Lux Metallic is one of them use thinner paint.  Just my guess but it still comes from the type of streets you drive/park on.

Don't call it Luxe.

Use the proper original name Luxe Metallicious Metallic (seriously!).

Anyway, my 2015 MKZ in Luxe Metallicious Metallic is not chipped at all (except for a spot here and there on the front bumper -- darn gravel!).

I have a 2016 with just over 1,000 miles and I got 2 rocks chips on my hood already and my car is black, so you could notice the 2 white dots from a mile away. The best advice I could tell you is not to purchase the touch up paint from lincoln. I went to my body shop guy and I let him use the paint they use with a little brush, there paint is much thicker and will provide a more even coat when touching up the little paint chips. Finishing this off with a light wet sand and waxing your hood will give you a pretty good finish. I was told that lincoln has downgraded in there touch up paint, as they now use enamel, which is pretty much water with some color. It will do the job, but any little detergent will wash it away. Just my two cents.
