17MKZ30T
Just ordered my 2017 MKZ Reserve 3.0T AWD last Wednesday May 25th. Magnetic with Terra Cotta/Ebony interior, Panoramic Glass roof, Climate Pkg, Multicontour Seats and Optional 19" wheels. I wonder when production of the 3.0T models will begin? I had a long wait with another "Late Availability" order a few years ago. Edited May 27, 2016 by 17MKZ30T Robert Iggy Cerami
shortspark
That is going to be a sweet ride for you. It is very similar to what I want to get but will wait until I test drive it. I am sort of debating between something like you ordered in the MKZ or the Continental. I believe the big motors will come later, as you point out, but I don't know when "later" is but Sept. is what one sales manager thinks. Since I would have to wait until then anyway I might as well as wait for Conti just to see what it is all about. My goal is to have one or the other by the end of the year. Good luck and let us know if you hear anything about the anticipated delivery date.
17MKZ30T
Thank You,will do. My dealer said he though it would be in the second build cycle. (don't know what that means) I was looking on line at cars.com and saw some dealers showing actual VIN numbers. I used another website that generates window stickers and it was a VIN for a 3.0 twin turbo motor car. I don't know how far in advance VINs are generated prior to the actual build date. I also considered the Continental but it's more than I want to spend for the one I'd want. Great looking car though. Drove a 2016 3.7 V6 AWD. The 2017 should drive and ride about the same just with an extra 100 HP :yahoo:
LQ1906
dude that looks sweet! I just leased a 2016 Platinum Dune Metallic One back at the first of April. Didn't realize the 17's were on the way or else I would have waited. Then again Im sure I wouldn't have been given several thousand in incentives to take it off the lot. Love my MKZ though. I also have the Reserve Pkg with the 19'' polished rims, moonroof, etc. Hate it didn't come with THX as the base sound system doesn't go up very loud before it starts destorting although the speakers do have some decent bass. Congrats on your purchase. Be sure to post pics when it arrives.
Grey03
I ordered mine about a month ago. I just got my VIN from the dealer. This is my window sticker. Robert Iggy Cerami and brentonm74
17MKZ30T
That's great, hope you don't have to wait too much longer before the car arrives. My salesman said he'd get my VIN as soon as he can. Grey03
schteve
Hello all... New poster / member here. I currently own a Mazdaspeed6 but just placed my order for a 2017 MKZ. Waiting for a build date and looking forward with some trepidation. I am buying a car that I can not find a single review on and not being able to drive one either. As I am sure you all know... The 3.0T isn't available yet nor is the "driver package" that I ordered I have my fingers crossed that the "tuned" suspension improves the "meh" handling as has been described by many publications on the 2013-2016 models. As it is.... I ordered the Dark Sapphire Blue, 300A reserve with driver package, mid-level Revel system (14 spkr), the "regular" moon roof and climate package (damn mi winters and all) I am hoping to hear from some of the first recipients of the 3.0 and driver package cars and their thoughts... I will most definitely post mine when received.
17MKZ30T
Nice! I went back and for between Midnight Sapphire and Magnetic. I saw a 2.0T car at the local dealership Magnetic with the Terracotta interior and really liked it so that's what I ordered. Ordered mine about three weeks ago, still waiting for a VIN and expected delivery date. Talked with a guy at a local car show that ordered the Drivers package like you. He ordered it in April if I remember correctly. Showed he his VIN and said his dealer told him he would see the car in late June early July. schteve
Cool. My dealer here said that mine should be built and here in July also... Something about the availability of the 3.0T
shortspark
Frankly, I would rather they wait for a nine speed transmission before releasing the 3.0 because they really need to get this right. Power will be there as the numbers suggest but I want it refined, smooth and efficient, much as the Jag XF is said to be. I know the XF is a driver's car and built that way but Lincoln needs to make the most of this new motor, even if its emphasis is more on quiet, comfort and luxury. The transmission must be as modern as the motor in order to do that.
longislander
Hi all, my very first post here. Great thread as I am planning to replace my 2014 Cadillac CTS with a '17 MKZ 3.0t/AWD when my lease ends in about 7 months. I previously had a 2010 MKZ (with Sport Package). My question is about tire size. If you build a 2017 MKZ with V-6/AWD and Reserve trim (with or without the Drivers Package) the tire size shows as P245/45R19 on the Lincoln website. However the few window stickers I've seen show P245/40R19. I don't want those lower profile tires - had too many problems with pothole damage on a 2012 Buick Regal GS with that tire size. Select trim comes with P245/45R18's and I would forego all the other good Reserve stuff just for that tire profile. Anyone know which tire size "really" comes with the Reserve 3.0? Thanks! Grey03
My car is built.. BUT, they haven't approved the 3.0 for shipment... Lincoln concierge on the website will tell you the status of your car if you have the VIN. They told me to keep checking as the status changes daily. If you go to Ford ETIS https://www.etis.ford.comand put your VIN in, it will show whether or not you vehicle has been built. Its Day/Month/Year. I saw what you are talking about with the website showing the 45 series tires.
17MKZ30T
I think when you order the optional 19" wheels or the Drivers package you get the 40's otherwise you get the 45's. I'm going to do a little research to see if I can confirm this. I think I might have figured it out. I looks like the Black Label cars get the 245/45R19 tires Edited June 17, 2016 by 17MKZ30T

You and I were probably the only two 2010 MKZ owners on LI with the Sport package. ;) I had a 2012 also. In all that time, I saw only two other Sports around here. Maybe yours was one of them. WRT tire size, I think the website is in error, which is not uncommon. Lincoln's website is pretty poor, IMO. I believe that the standard 18" wheel gets the 45-series tire while any 19" wheel gets the 40-series. Since the Reserve comes with 19" wheels as OE, it follows that they will come with 40-series tires. Yes, the lower profile tires make the wheels more susceptible to pothole damage, but let's not forget that the Lincoln Drive Control System includes a pothole damage mitigation feature, something your Buick didn't have. See also. I have the 40-series on mine and I've hit some pretty good potholes that I was sure would have resulted in a bent wheel but didn't (knocking on wood here). Ford good measure, after some negotiation, I took the Ford tire/wheel insurance package, which has already paid for itself in ruined tire replacement. I should add that I happen to like a really hard ride. With the 40-series tires and CCD always set to "Sport," I'm satisfied. YMMV.

If you like a hard ride, the 2010/2012 with the Sport suspension fit the bill! Yes, I get the feeling that the tire info on the Lincoln website is incorrect and that all 2017 MKZ's with 19-inch wheels will have the 40-profile tires. I guess the proof will be when the 3.0t's start hitting the dealers. If the 45-profile is correct I would want to order the Drivers Package, what a great combination of mechanical and cosmetic upgrades for the price! schteve
Grey03 - Any word on the shipment of your car yet? I checked mine, per the concierge its "in production" but as of yet have not received the VIN (thinking its in queue for VIN assignment) and hoping for an early july build... But it may not matter unless they have approved the 3.0 for shipment.... hell we may end up getting our cars at nearly the same time

schteve
Good to know. I got my VIN yesterday. As of right now the dealer is saying its scheduled for build of July 4. Due to some initial issues with my sales guy ( I now have a new one). They are going to try to expedite the build if possible. I am hoping for delivery sometime the week of July 11 or July
17MKZ30T
Got my VIN tonight from the Lincoln Concierge. He was a lot more helpful than my salesman. No real idea when it will build. He thought maybe late July. I did use the https://www.etis.ford.com website. It finds my VIN but it doesn't show a build date yet.
