jetjock
I was just wondering if anyone has changed the oil and has all the details. Thanks
robertlane
Not me. I stopped changing the oil a few years ago. Maybe I am getting too old - I just got tired of the mess and disposal. michaelinokc

KenZ
Ditto. Don't change my own oil anymore. Too much mess. Routine maintenance for the first few years is included with the 2013 MKZ so no worries!
SteveB_TX
I have read on the fusion forums that some dealers put too much oil into the 2013 MKZ hybrid, not realizing the 2.0 takes less oil than the ECOboost or V6. I am definitely going to make sure when my oil is changed that they know the difference! :) robertlane
Steve the tech geek
SteveB, Thanks for posting this info -- without your post, I probably wouldn't have checked my oil level when I got home from the dealer after my 10K service. My 2013 Hybrid had just over one quart too much oil (for reference, this showed up as 9/16" above the maximum mark). They offered to remove it, but I wasn't comfortable driving it back to the dealership like that so I removed it my self. robertlane

EatDirtFartDust
Changing the oil on these is not fun, without a proper hoist. There's a lot of screws that need to come out, before you can remove the lower plastic shield, before you can get to the drain plug and filter. Just give the dealer the $11 or $12 they charge for labor to do it for you.
Mark95man
Yes, I changed the oil on my wife's 2014 MKZ Hybrid. No big deal IF you have the correct adapters for your floor jacks. The Dealership wanted $70 additional for the free oil changes when you want 100% SYNETHETIC Mobil 1 oil installed. I installed a Motorcraft 910s oil filter and 4.5 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-20 oil. Everything is correct and no worries + the travel time it takes for a round trip to the Dealership is more than the time to change the oil & filter. My total cost was under $30. edit done on oil filter number to correct typo Edited July 6, 2014 by Mark95man

You could end up with warped rotors AND they'll blame you.
