KenZ
Does anyone else HATE the Nav system? Is there any way to use the phone Nav (such as Google Maps or Mapquest) when the phone is connected to the car? Actually, I love the Nav system in my 2013 MKZ. If you want to see a bad Nav system, my 2010 Acura had AcuraLink, that Nav system was a nightmare. I guess it all depends on what you had prior! To answer your question. Yes, if your phone is connected with the USB cable or with the BlueTooth. If the sound from an app will come out over the phone speakers, then the sound will come out over the car speakers (if connected by USB or BT). You can listen to music on your phone (or radio if you have Recivea or iHeartRadio or similar) which automatically mutes when the phone is giving verbal directions in the map program. They both mute if you get a call, which happened in my test. I just tried it with my iPhone5 and it worked for me.
John M Young
If you use Mapquest you can set up your desired route and send it to your car for turn by turn navigation. It does require your phone being connected to the cars Sync system. Your MyLincoln site has to have the phone number of the phone that will be connected to the Sync system. Using a web browser Multiple destinations can be stored in your MyLincoln site and then called up by voice in your car. Works very good and down loads the route so you can make other calls and doesn't need cell coverage on the route after its downloaded. You can also send the route to a tablet or cell phone and use Mapquest for the moving map. I have seen YouTube videos that show the Mapquest map on the Sync screen but have not figured out how to do that. My 2014 MZK does not have the navigation enabled so I would like to be able to put the Mapquest map on the screen. All so looking for a dealer or shop that can activate my navigation for me as my dealer doesn't know this can be done. I know it costs a lot, but that's ok. Forgot to mention the turn by turn navigation shows on the main screen or the one on the right of the instrument cluster and also has voice navigation. Eric McDonough
Has anybody figured out how to get the live traffic to show up ON TOP of the road? I can see the traffic info is there, as there's a sliver of yellow, red or green on the edge of roads where traffic info is available, but it's very hard to see. SteveB_TX
Nice to see the OP has not returned since he started this off-the-wall thread over a year ago... Hmmm. Can you say Forum Troll? I knew you could. :)

Just a thought. I don't get traffic info in my neck of the rural woods, so I really have no idea what you are talking about. :) Edited September 26, 2014 by SteveB_TX
Eric McDonough
Hah! Fair enough. Yes. I have zoomed in. It doesn't really make it any better... Was hoping I could get the traffic to overlay on top of the road like with google maps, etc..
