Short row of amber LED's at rear edge of each headlamp

Recommended Posts

Mine come on whenever I unlock the car, open a door or whenever the headlights are on. My car is equipped with the tech package which also include adaptive autolamps and i always leave the headlight switch in the auto position. When I close the last door after turning off and exit the vehicle they will remain on until I hit "lock' on the remote. They might be considered parking lamps but that is my guess. I don't see a fuse in the manual just for the parking lamps, maybe someone else more familiar can chime in with additional info.

Ditto.  They're parking lamps. Officially known as front position lamps. By law, amber or white parking lamps have to be illuminated when the headlights are on.  It seems kind of redundant,  in my car at least, since the white LEDs in the lower front bumper cover are always on.  They also come on if you turn the switch to the park lamps position (position B) and don't turn the headlights on. E142449_EUR.JPG  I guess this is used if you are actually parked and want to have low power position lamps illuminated for safety reasons. Not that anybody does that anymore. They're also called "city lights" in Europe where where the headlights aren't used in crowded cities but low power illumination is required.
