I have noticed lately that in the morning that my high voltage battery is at a higher level than when I parked it  for the night. does the high voltage battery draw from the car battery. I ask because we went away for a week and when we came back the car was dead, needed a jump had the battery ck all was well.

I have an auxiliary query: anyone have an issue where the car is fine one day, and the next it won't start at all?

Had AAA give it a jump, it started right up and I got to work, but will have to try again at lunch and see if it's having a problem further.

94K miles, 6 weeks shy of its 5th birthday.

If it is still the original battery I would look into changing it.... 5 years is about all you should expect out of it.

Also, I put in a larger battery 9 months ago. Mine was doing this about every 3-4 weeks and need jumped to turn on. It has NEVER done this since putting a bigger battery in. Fact is, even is the dealer gave you a new battery every week fro life do you want to wait for AAA, etc.? This will end the issue for $75, I promise it did with mine.

What size battery did you put in?

I am having an issue similar. My car dies after a week to completely dead for no reason. The dealer even replaced my car under lemon law and now the new one is doing the same!! MKZ 2017 hybrid

I will look in the morning. It was a 2 yr old battery on my shop shelf out of my son's Eclipse that blew the head gasket. I have NEVER had another battery issue since and I leave it sit at times 5-6 days without driving. (multiple times it has sat in the garage 8-10 days while on a vacation) I could never get past 2-3 days previous. Be aware this battery is bigger than the original so it does not sit in the battery tray but not huge by any means like in my Excursion.

My issue isn't when the car just sits. I literally drove it 50 miles , parked and 7 hours later it was dead for no reason. 2nd Lincoln in 4 months as they lemon lawed the first and now same problem with new one. The service manager is either completely lying and there is a recall coming or they are REALLY stumped

Yes, mine would too if I did not drive it daily. Again, it has never done it since I put the bigger battery in.

Had power trunk issues for last few week, yesterday the trunk would not open at all.... now battery is dead. complete. not even a light to come on.

I may have a partial / possible reason why the 12V battery goes dead after a week or so of non use.   My  new 2015 MKZ hybrid 12V battery was stone dead when I first looked at it on the dealer lot. It has not given any problem since, but I put a battery maintainer on the 12V if the car is not to be used for a week or more, so even a pretty good drain on the 12V would not show itself.

This evening at 24,000 miles, I decided it,s time to change the cabin air filter. To change the cabin filter you need to remove the glove box. After removing the glove box, I noticed that the switch mechanism for the glove box light was hanging loose on it's power wire.   I thought we must have dislodged the switch and push rod while removing the box, but seeing that I needed to remove the glove box lid from the glove box, to assemble this switch setup.  No possible way for this switch to come apart without breaking something.   I can only conclude that this screw up was done at the factory, and the glove box light has been on 24/7 for almost 2 years.

 

After correctly assembling the glove  box light switch and reinstalling the box, I found that by inserting two finger tips in the upper left corner of the box and pushing the right side of the lid shut with my other  hand, I could look through the gap my fingers created in the left top side to see that the glove box light on the right box wall, does now turn off when I close the lid.

My thoughts, when this fellow at the factory messed up the assembly of the glove box on my MKZ, how many others has he assembles the same incorrect way, with the little glove box light that never turns off and slowly discharges the 12V battery of how many MKZ's while parked.

This may be the 12V battery killer that the dealer cant find.

I purchased my 2015 Mkz Hybird new in May of 2015. The first month of owning my car was it did not start after sitting for 2 days.

I had AAA jump start it. I inspected everything to see what might have been left on, nothing found. I have lost track of how many times 

AAA has been out to jump start. I have taken my car to the dealer to be checked out. Nothing was found wrong with the car and told no problem. The inconvenience, time and frustration over a brand new expensive car not starting should not happen. Not to mention feeling 

embarrassed waiting for my car to be jumped. 

In the past I have checked to see if there was any recalls creating this problem. I am very thankful to have found this forum. I assumed if 

the dealer checked the battery and it was fine, something must be wrong electrical draining the battery when the car is off. 

I am going to purchase a new battery and hope not to need AAA or the battery jump pack I keep in the car.

I had the same problem with my 15  7 months after I got it... Went to my dealer and they changed the battery at cost to me.. I was told that the car sat on the lot for a while before being sold...

Even a new battery can be defective.  That aside, why are you calling AAA instead of Lincoln Roadside Assistance.  If the latter was called, you'd at least have some documentation.  Also, isn't there a yearly limit to the number of calls AAA will make?  BTW, the battery in your car is covered under the 4/50 B2B warranty.

 

I think your dealer is jerking you around.  Call the Lincoln Concierge.

My 2015 MKZ battery died this week at 44 months of age (it's stamped August 2014). Low voltage alerts came to my phone, but too late. The car would not start.

EDIT: the original 12V battery failed the recharge test quickly and was replaced under warranty. So, no additional probing for battery drain was done.

 

Per Jon Hagen's post, I checked my glove box light. In the dark I can see dim light in the passenger foot well. But it goes out after a 10-20 minutes when the rear passenger ceiling halo lights go off. Am not sure why those lights stay on so much longer than the main interior lights.

 

I will check the glove box switch wiring for peace of mind.

Four years seems about average for these batteries.
