fumar86
Ok so I dont know much when it comes to wax but I know there are many out there the dealer ship told me about their paint protection program with CTPC. Well after further research I found out its pretty much a rip off of a basic wax that they just mark up the price. But is Nu Finish a good wax, or how about Eagle One Superior NanoWax Spray? I ask because I live in a apartment so the car will be surrounded by the usual trees so I wonder if there is a wax that can protect it from Sap and Bird poop along with me taking the car to a touch free car wash? :)

Rusty Boltz
I've had my MKZ for 3 years, and have used scratch and swirl remover once a year (3rd time coming up soon). Other than that, I use a detailer specifically for black cars. My MKZ looks great, but it is garage kept. robertlane
How often or how many times can you use a clay bar? Doesn't it harm the finish if you use it too often?
SteveB_TX
Clay bars do not contain any abrasives that remove the finish like polishing or rubbing compound. They only grab and hold onto contaminates embedded in the paint/clear coat. :) The only harm is to your body since it is a rigorous workout doing the whole car! :gaah:

I like Meguiars products. I have been using their Gold Class wax for years and am very happy with the results. Mothers also makes very good products. Keep in mind that no spray wax will give you the protection of a good liquid or paste wax. Also keep in mind that while clay bars are good for removing paint contamination, old wax etc, you need to rewax any/all areas after you clay, since the paint will be completly unprotected after claying. In between waxes and washes, you can remove tree sap and bird droppings with a good spray detailer, such as Meguiar's Spray Detailer. Keep a bottle of it along with a good microfiber or 100% cotton towel in your car for quick cleanups. Good luck.
socalMKZ
If you are really serious about making your car look great try this wax from chemicalguys.com (Black Luminous Glow Infusion) http://www.chemicalguys.com/Black_Luminous_Glow_Infusion_8_oz_p/wac_307_1.htm I use it on my 2013 Ford Fusion in tuxedo black which gives the paint a deep black look and makes the metallic pop! I will be using these two products on my 2015 MKZ in guard (Black Light & Hybrid V7) http://www.chemicalguys.com/Hybrid_V7_Black_Light_Car_Kit_p/hol_151.htm Any product from the Chemical Guys will blow away any products sold in stores. JayD
I use a combination of mostly Ammo products and Meguiar's 205, Correction Compound and Finishing Wax. It also helps having Kevin Brown's number in your phone. He IS the guru.
Rusty Boltz
Update to my previous post: I went over the car again with scratch and swirl remover, then applied a coat of spray wax for black cars. It looks great. I'll continue using detailer for black cars too.
