WRY12000 Posted January 30, 2016 Share Posted January 30, 2016 Hello everyone. Just ordered a 2016 MKZ Reserve. Should be delivered in March. Just wondering can the location app be used for surveillance in real time ? I have a teen I would like to keep an eye on , or does the vehicle have to be parked ? I guess my question is , can I watch in real time on the mobile app location map the cars movements and the routes it takes or does it only work after it's parked ? Thanks in advance. Robert Iggy Cerami Posted February 2, 2016 Share Posted February 2, 2016 (edited) No... It will show the location of the car at the time you log in.. But not the cars real time movement or speed. I let my 18 year old use my car and before he left I showed him the app and told him I am watching his every move.... I failed to tell him that I can only see the location of the car and not the speed.. So as far as he knows I can check on his driving habits.. miahjera04 Posted February 3, 2016 Share Posted February 3, 2016 Yes with the my key, you can limit the max speed. Also, with my lincoln mobile app, I can see in real time the whereabouts with mine. I have the embedded modem, all you do is pull up the map section in mlm app and keep hitting the cross hair looking symbol, it'll ping your phones gps, then re-ping the cars gps (even if it's moving) just keep re-pinging and you can see the symbol moving frame by frame.
