Rebel Racing
Hi Guys, Our 2010 has a damaged area on the optional 17" 9 spoke rim (see pic). It was there when we bought it so I have no idea how it occured. I haven't taken the time to see if the cover is removable or directly bonded to the rim (as has been suggested to me by someone). Besides trying to find a good used one, what are my options? Thanks!!
Rusty Boltz
Some MKZs had chrome wheels (like mine), some apparently had "chrome clad" wheels. In either case, your local tire shop should be able to direct you to a wheel repair shop.
drolds1
Yeah, these phony chrome wheels are made using a process called Chromtec from a company named Lacks Enterprises. Unfortunately, they can't be repaired and are absurdly expensive. The "chrome" part is bonded to the wheel and can't be easily removed. Either find a good used wheel or replace them all with alloy wheels you like.

I'll talk to a buddy that works in a tire shop to see who they use for wheel repair. Thanks!!

gnardo73
I bought my 07 yesterday and the wheels are the worse part of the car. I'll probably be going to the Tire rack site. They can post an image of your car and how different wheel styles look with it.
CARiD
I am afraid this chip just can't be repaired. If it bothers you badly you can sure look at some new rims to fit your stock tires.
