SteveB_TX
Hey all... Have any of y'all tried to open your trunk via the keypad? The manual tells you it can be done, but mine won't work. So, off to my Ford dealer this morning to have it checked out (among other issues). Turns out, according to the Ford Hotline response they got, only non-powered deck lids have that feature. Guess that leaves us out and the owners manual is wrong.
Veritas68
Thank you for this post. I just picked up my 2013 yesterday and was going to take into the dealership but then came across your post. I don't quite understand what the engineering complexity is that prohibits the power trunk from being opened by the keypad...but, oh well. dsvinson
It might be because you have a push button switch under the trunk lid, right above the license plate. Why not use that? StealthMKZ

It doesnt make alot of sense, there are powered trunks on Towncars back to 04~05ish that are capable of being opened with the key pad
Davisjl
I'd have to go back and look, but I think my manual stated that it was only for non-powered deck lids. As to why... who knows. I've not found it to be an issue for me...
AZ MKZ h
I checked my manual also and it says in tiny print under the feature that it doesn't work with the power decklid. Geeze. That said, it would be nice if it did because, the manual button by the license won't work if you don't have your keyfob and the car is locked [at least the one time I tried it]. Then again, I'd have to remember the damn keypad code.
