I do have an appointment for Monday to see the sales manager and test drive a hybrid. I am only interested in the 400hp but the auto show I attended had coupons sent out for people interested in Lincolns. They will give me a $75 Master Card for a test drive of a new Lincoln so I might as well take advantage of it and get to know the sales manager at the same time. Yea, I guess if you're dead set on the new 3.0L engine, then wait and test drive one. But as far as the hybrid models, the engine, transmission, battery, etc. has remained unchanged since 2013. Besides, of the three dealers I visited, they all pretty much said even if you order, once the vehicle gets here, if you don't like it, you're under no obligation to buy. It's been six weeks and a day since I ordered mine. I heard it was at the factory as of Tuesday this week. But the sales manager is unsure what state it is. I'm not sure...but according to the Order Guide, it looks like a separate option as a part of the Driver's Package. By "under control" do you mean under hard acceleration in a straight line or cornering? Torque vectoring is for cornering. I assume that's why it's included with the Driver's package along with sport tuned suspension; appealing to those interested in spirited driving. Ford introduced AWD torque vectoring on the Focus RS. I also thought it was similar to my MB system known as 4-Matic but I could be wrong about that. As I understand it the torque is applied (more or less) to each wheel depending on need. At my age now I can't say I will drive this vehicle in a "spirited" fashion and I would rather have a "luxury" suspension than a harsher sport suspension. I may not need torque vectoring at all. Frankly, I don't need 400 hp/torque either but I would like to have it. The big issue seems to be this driver's package. If I am stuck with the black interior I know I won't want the driver's package, no matter what else it offers. That alone may make me move up to the Black Label interiors. brucelinc Posted May 23, 2016 Share Posted May 23, 2016 Yes, torque vectoring is only with the drivers package on the MKZ but it is standard on the 400 HP Continental. By the way, my tuned MKS has much more than 400 HP and is completely controllable. I pretty much only use the extra power in a straight line but unless you enjoy cornering REALLY hard, I doubt if you would want or need torque vectoring. I had a 2010 MKZ Sport. That year you had a choice of black or grey interiors with the Sport. I had a grey car with (lighter) gray interior. For my 2012 Sport, the only choice was black with white accents. I had no choice if I wanted a Sport, which was mandatory for me. I was not happy but had to live with it b/c I wouldn't own the car without the Sport package. Included in the previous Sport package was genuine aluminum interior trim in place of wood. I wanted the aluminum trim on my 2014 but guess what? Only available with black (Ebony) interior. Why? Now for 2017, here we are again. You want the Driver's Package, you have to take black interior. Why? People who enjoy a more spirited driving experience aren't also entitled to color choices as well? Is this the Henry Ford heritage edition (Any color you want as long as it's black)? Of course, there's the $4400 LED headlight (and stereo) option for 2017 to replace the no-cost LED headlights on the 2013-2016s. The new Jaguar XE R-Sport is looking better to me every day. My 2017 is in the images section... got it a month ago today... chill out I know you weren't being smart...but I was. I saw your picture the other day and got jealous. LOL. That's why I gave you the sideeye. But I'm frustrated about delay. It seems that all Black Label trims are delayed. When I originally ordered at the beginning of April, they were marked "Late Availability." You've probably also heard that any 2017 MKZs 3.0 engines have also been delayed. I haven't found a single dealership in the country that has a 3.0 or 2017 Black Label in stock. Plenty on order, but none in stock. I called and spoke with a Lincoln Concierge this morning and her manager said that Black Labels are FINALLY starting to ship. They confirmed that a customer received a 2017 Black Label this past Saturday. As for mine...my salesperson is recovering from a surgical procedure, so I'm having to follow up through other sales agents and the sales manager. On June 15, the dealership told me it was "built" and should be on the lot by June 27-28. Obviously, that didn't happen. Today, I inquired about an order number and VIN. I'm told that it's possible that I don't have an order number. It might have been ordered through one of the dealer's existing order allocations, rather than a special order. Another salesperson has been assigned to be my point of contact for now. He said he'd do some research and get back to me. The only thing he knows is that it's on a truck somewhere--en route. Not sure what this means. I was under the impression that they traveled by car for the majority of the trip across the country, and then a truck did the final leg of delivery. In that case, I live right by where the cars are unloaded off the train--and it's only about 20 minutes from the dealership. So I don't know what's going on. I'm beyond frustrated. Argh... Not to mention I've already had a few problems. Yeah I have the 2.0. after my last two cars were V8's (both LSE's) I wondered if I really needed anymore power..... so I decided to drop to a V6, one I drove the four cylinder fusion I said this will do. Alright, update. I just got my car back today after two weeks of them having it.... the verdict if a computer issue... same computer module that's in the 2.0 is in the V6 and will be in the continental!
