Kachopsticks
Hi everyone, I just purchased a MKZ :-). I was trying to load the music jukebox through the USB port. I have all of my music on an external hard drive. I can play it through my external hard drive, but I was hopeing to load it onto the Juke box hard drive. It seems like the only way to put songs on the jukebox drive is by ripping them directly off a CD. Is there a way to do it throug the USB port that I am missing? Ripping 10 gigs off of CDs seems very tedious.
drolds1
No. The only way is via CD. The 2013 MKZ doesn't even have the jukebox feature. They've eliminated it Welcome to the forums.
Kachopsticks
Thank you for the reply. I guess I will either buy a large capacity flash drive or burn my music onto some dvds.
1984Poke
Kachopsticks, get yourself a small (small in physical size, not in capacity) USB thumb drive (I'm using an 8GB one) and see if you can copy your files from the external hard drive onto the USB thumb drive, then insert the USB thumb drive into one of the two USB ports. I have music from 50 or 60 CDs on my USB thumb drive. First, I copied them to my computer using Windows Media Audio, then copied them onto the USB thumb drive, then stuck that into one my '13 MKZ's two USB ports. It works fine except for one thing that I haven't figured out yet (despite tinkering with it for a good hour yesterday afternoon): The songs don't play in the same order that they're found on the original CD. They seem to play in a random order (track 1, then track 8, then track 11, then . . . ). I need to see if someone at Lincoln can help me with this. It's a small thing, I grant you, but it's annoying. tbird71
We have a 2010 MKT, same system, you guys are right, have to load the Juke thru a CD only I bought a few 8G Lexar thumb drives, they were only 5.99 ea You can "classify" your tunes on several of them, or just load em all onto one. I've got 840 tunes on one, and it isn't 1/2 full I just leave it plugged in to the port inside the center console, then hit MEDIA when I want to play You're also right it plays them in different order that recorded, but you can group them somewhat if you want before downloading to the thumb, I'll just download certain type of music onto one, etc etc I hand picked these 840 tunes here, not a bad song in the lot. I JUST HIT SHUFFLE and enjoy! 2 Things: I've decided NOT to upload the latesdt sync, everything's working 100% now and to my satisfaction, why take a chance on screwing it up as some here have by what I've read. Hope nobody tells the wife she's driving the new livery version of the Town Car. She doesn't like luxury cars. She still thinks it's a SUV and I'm not enlightning her. Beautiful ride! robertlane
