2017 MKZ introduction news

It looks like they are going directly after the Jaguar XF in looks and performance.  The new V6 engine at 400hp will be 20hp more than the Jag's S sport trim and offers even more torque.  Finally a driver's car - perhaps.  The 2017 MKZ was introduced yesterday at the LA Auto Show and here are several articles:

I'm not a fan of the redesign.

I think it's a dumb move to have spent a decade building equity across the entire line with the split-wing grille and then abandoned it for one that makes the car look more like a Fusion. There's a little Jag in there, but as much as there is Aston Martin in the Fusion looks.

I really don't care for the new center stack - looks like they caved to the auto writers who don't like the clean lines of the touch sliders, and want knobs and dials like they had on their 60's muscle cars. Those guys must really hate Teslas.

Glad I got mine before the design language changed. First FoMoCo product I've liked enough to buy in 20 years. But with this new direction, I'll be looking at other options next time.
