Starting To Arrive

MKZ's are starting to arrive at Central Florida dealers. Took a good look at my favorate dealer, did not drive, but looked. They only had one to drive, although they had two others, NOT FOR SALE, that they will use for loaners. Everyone I looked at had that (stupid) full roof that goes all the way back, covering part of the rear window in the process. Also ugly short radio antenna because when the roof is back, it would cover the rear window antenna.

In a couple or three weeks (see below) I will try to take one out for a good test ride. At the moment, dealers don't have the MKZ I want, If i buy one, I want the V6, with the "Reserve" Equipment Group option ($3150) the Single Panel Moonroof ($1200) and the THX II Audio system ($995).  I also have my eye on another brand that I like very much, but various forums say that it has a harder ride. (Yes, you can believe everything you read on the internet).  My 2011 MKZ has the perfect ride so the 2013 "should" also have a good ride. In looking at them both, (have not test driven either yet), they both have advantages and disadvantages over the other.

I have an family emergency (death) up in Western New York, so I am leaving tomorrow morning with my SHO (AWD). Hope I can dodge the snow up there in VA, WV, PA and NY.  Will not check out cars until after I return. Will test drive at that time.

I just bought a 2014 MKZ Hybrid (9/12/13) my dealer had a good selection and could quickly check all surrounding dealers. MKZ's they had in stock went from about 37+ up to about 48000. I paid 35600 for mine and had to wait for the service dept. to inspect it before a test drive. In VA you need a state safety inspection sticker.  I too like another brand... 2014 Hybrid Q50. I thought the ride was about equal. The best price I could get was about 15k more on the Q. Admittidly the Q did have more features but not worth the 15k to me.

Plus I have a 2005 Escape Hybrid and a 2013 Ford Edge that I like. I have owned tow Infinitis and liked both. My Local Ford and Infiniti dealers have both given me very good service.

I don't like that big top and have seen some comments of it leaking. I would go with the 1200 dollar option.

I made sure the dealership (a 5-6 hour round trip from home) I was going to buy mine from did NOT have a hybrid with that panoramic roof.  That thing is HEAVY, and would really reduce MPG.  Plus, way too many things to go wrong with it over the years.  I like my moonroof, but I sure do miss the convertible I traded in.  *sigh*  :)

Sorta miss mine to. Just got rid on a 09 G37 VERT. Talk about to many parts that hardtop convertible had them, but never a problem. Drove  to Ohio so the guy could install it. Did it free because it was the first one he did. This was my vert until about 10days ago.

This is my vert until about 10 days ago.
