Hardp
Does anyone know if Lincoln has any plans for a plug-in hybrid? I love my energi titanium but would trade it for a Lincoln plug-in hybrid in a NY minute.
JoeBrown
I haven't seen any announcement that said they are. However, they have the technology and if they determine they could make money on it...............
drolds1
I kind of doubt it. The Fusion Energi, which is a plug-in hybrid, does not sell well at all. It would be hard to make a business case for a Lincoln version of it
SteveB_TX
I doubt it as well. I mean, look at the Cadillac ELR. They can't even give those things away! ;) Luxury ride + plug-in does not = sales. JoeBrown

It didn't help that the introductory price was $75G. I've seen them advertised at $20G off. JoeBrown
JoeBrown
I personally think it's great that they have a very attractive Luxury Hybrid that is very competitive. The cherry on top is, it cost the same as the gasoline version.

I think the 2015 is base priced $10k less than the 2014s. Still way too much for a Chevy Volt in fancy dress! ;)

NV Rick
Was that "The zig that zags" or something? Or was that the Catera?
SteveB_TX
Was that "The zig that zags" or something? Or was that the Catera? My sister-in-law has a "Cadillac" Catera. I had to bite my tongue as she told me all about her fancy Caddy. She is definitely jealous of my Lincoln. :)
JoeBrown
Was that "The zig that zags" or something? Or was that the Catera? The Cadillac Cimarron was a compact Chevy Cavalier that was "dressed up" and sold as a luxury car.
2015mkzhybrid
Bottom line for me is that Lincoln was smart to offer a Hybrid version equal in price to a gas only version. It was the deciding factor to making me a very proud owner of a 2015 Hybrid. Just had mine in for its first oil change, and it's been all smiles driving all the way!!! ITFlyer
I have a C-Max Energi, and would have bought an Energi version of the MKZ over the Hybrid that we now own. With the clean vehicle rebate and the federal tax credit on a plug-in vehicle, the difference in price between a hybrid and plug-in hybrid is essentially nil - the rebates and tax credits pay for the increase in price. My only concern would be the loss in trunk space - the Hybrid already has a smallish trunk thanks to the battery shoehorned in there. With a plug-in version, there would be very little room left for trunk space.
ITFlyer
This is the trunk a Fusion plug-in Hybrid, so it's basically what you would see in a plug-in MKZ in terms of trunk space. Not much, that's for sure.
