miahjera04
That sucks that yalls limit is 35%!!! That blows... I actually went 5% darker then the legal limit on my fronts. Tx it's w/e you want on back, just front doors have to be 25%, mine are 20%. And all my backs are 5% and I have a brow on the windshield as well... Super dark on the inside, live it! Helps a lot with how hot it gets here
16LuxeTennessee
Tennessee tint laws suck. I moved here from Florida and was sorry that I had to settle for 35%. I did go darker on rear window.

jimflutes
I also tinted the widows (Johnson window tint) ,35% is the legal tint and they look very good without being "ricey". I am very satisfied with the look. I also had the roof vinyl wrapped with 3m black gloss (looks like an expensive paint job) ,so together with the window tint and gloss black roof on my silver Z, you get a dramatic classy look (I just saw a Mercedes Benz with same roof), but not over the top, that changes the overall look of the car. So instead of thinking of buying a 2017 Z for $40,000,which I did not like the front end restyle, for $480 I get a really different looking car that I know is extremely well taken care of. I like that deal!  Jim Edited February 19, 2016 by jimflutes
jimflutes
Update on my last post. Now looking at the tinted windows I am satisfied with the side widows at 35%,but would have preferred the back window the next shade darker (30% or 25%). Jim

jimflutes
Tennessee, Oh right, seeing yours and Waynes made me get mine done ,but since I have a light color car (silver),I got the roof wrapped in black gloss also,so with the back tinted window you get a streamline effect from the top flowing into the trunk. The roof wrapping was a big step for me ,but if I did not like it I could always take it off. The one thing about wrapping is to have a pro shop do it (300.00),and now that I did it I like it a lot. This wrapping thing is new to me but at the shop they were wrapping very expensive cars. They use 3m vinyl gloss, the same 3m they did my clear bra with ,that is on the car since 2013 and looks new today. So I feel all these wraps and things are safe as long as a pro shop does them. Jim
16LuxeTennessee
Jim, I'd love to do that with my roof, I bet it looks great on your car. I'm only leasing my car though so it was tough enough to spend the money on tint when I don't even own the car. André (Tennessee)
jimflutes
Tennessee, yes I understand seeing it would cost around 300.00 to do it right (but I really did not check out other prices like Tint World),I think I would stay with just the tinted window upgrade since you will have to give up the car. By the way ,how does the leasing thing work, can you buy the car at the end and have the money you spent put towards buying it? Â Jim
16LuxeTennessee
This is the first car I've ever leased. I felt like it was such a great deal with no money down and low payments and 18,000 miles per year alloted. They told me that at the end of the three years I could buy it for a certain price or just turn it in. They said that Lincoln will make some enticing offers to keep me in another Lincoln (Continental!) which is probably what I will do. I'm very pleased with the lease deal. jimflutes
Tennessee , Sounds like you know what you are doing and what you want. Like I said if you do the Gloss top you can just have it removed when the lease is up . Jim

I've been leasing for a long time. Lincoln will generally make offers to entice you to lease another one. There's usually a "pull-ahead" program in which they'll offer to waive your last few payments if you re-lease. A word of caution here. Some unscrupulous dealers will just roll those payments into your new lease so, in effect, you're still paying them. I never had this issue with Ford Credit. I haven't gone the full term of the original lease on my last several Lincolns. There was always a pull-ahead offer that I took them up on.  They might also give you the first payment on the house.  They also might forgive the first $500 of "excess wear & tear." Of course, if you don't have any, this is a moot point. Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to read the fine print when the time comes. I bet some of these dealers really do some screwing over to those that just sign away. I was so happy with my MKZ experience that I'm considering an MKX for my wife.
jimflutes
I just posted about a product called SimGlas , after the tinted windows were installed they had a lot of finger prints all over, this product made them spotless. Then I used them on all the windows inside and outside , they were not only clean but were perfect. I am amazed that all the things I clean with this came out spotless;TV screens , computer , glasses whatever. A must for tinted widows!
