MKZ Guide
Ford Denies Lincoln MKZ Owners Tour As everyone knows, we've been trying to set up some non-profit tours of Ford facilities for Lincoln MKZ (and all other Lincoln) owners as well. Unfortunately, Ford responded that they couldn't make a business case out of allowing Lincoln owners access, even though they do tours on a routine basis. I'm actually quite surprised that Ford has taken this position when they are craving for new customers to support the Lincoln brand - it's very saddening. drolds1
That is sad. What do they mean WRT business case? How about accommodating happy and interested members as a good PR move. Isn't that a business case for future business? My, how times have changed. Lincoln rolled out the red carpet for us members of the Lincoln LS Owners Club back in the early 2000s. They were thrilled to have us and put arranged days of events, tours and lectures. We were invited back a couple of times. We even got driven from Dearborn to the Michigan Proving Grounds in Romeo, where few outsiders are permitted. These were memorable events and I still reflect upon them warmly to this day. Here's a group shot of attendees at the defunct Wixom, MI Lincoln plant, taken by FoMoCo personnel and presented to us as a keepsake, ca. 2003. Here's another of a buffet we were treated to at Lincoln HQ in Irvine, CA. , ca. 2002. Bad move, Lincoln. Your predecessors were far more gracious to paying and loyal customers. robertlane
I still can't figure this one out. How can Lincoln owners touring a Ford plant, which already provides tours NOT be a business case? Even though we're able to run the Lincoln MKZ Club, the letters I write to Lincoln go unanswered. I am speechless.
