My new (to me) 2013 mkZ 3.7 AWD

Recommended Posts

So if you guys haven't noticed yet, I am here to blow up these forums!  Haha.  I come from mustang, subaru, and golf (the sport...not the crappy car*) forums that were extremely active.  I enjoy contributing and learning from others experiences.

So, now to the point of this topic...

I just purchased a Certified 2013 mkZ from Michigan through my local Lincoln dealer, so I am very excited for it to come in next week (the sooner the better!) Here is the run down:

  • Tuxedo Black w/ charcoal black interior
  • 3.7L AWD model w/ Preferred Package and Tech Package (wayyy more goodies than I need)
  • Panoramic Roof (yes!)
  • 19" grey wheels (sexy)
  • 34,xxx miles

Pictures to come once the deal is final and the car is in the driveway.  I am sure the questions about this and that will begin shortly after haha.  First one, do any of you guys run full synthetic?

*just picking on the VW Golf, they are not a "crappy" car, just not my cup of tea.

Just waiting on the title at this point. I just did the diy epoxy garage floor paint with metal flakes tonight. When I bring it home and detail it, its going to have a proper place to park! My wife is going to question the amount of time I will now be spending in the garage haha.

The car shipped in earlier than expected. Drove out to see it tonight. Looks very clean, was already inspected and certified. Took it for a drive, love it!

Very excited to officially get the keys and start driving it.

Thanks! Super excited to get this thing back to the house and detailed.

Yes, I was out there this year.  Great group of cars. Spent a decent bit of time drooling over the Ford GTs but there are usually some obscure mercury and lincoln products there as well that I really enjoyed.  My Dad drove his (original) 63.5 Marauder over.  I love that car because it is not seen very often vs. the hundreds upon thousands of mustangs that were there.  We did make it up your way one time when he had his 66 Fairlane.  The Fairlane club had a show in Dearborn to celebrate the Thunderbolt (http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/hrdp-0911-ford-thunderbolt-reunion/)

Have you ever gone to one of the Ford events in Carlisle?

Good luck with it and I hope you enjoy driving your's as much as I do mine.

Thanks, I am sure I will.  I haven't had a chance to really open it up much.  In normal driving on the way back from the dealership I was getting ~24mpg with some stop signs and lights along the way. So if I mix in some spirited driving and get ~20 while enjoying it and looking good...I'll take that!
