Amplify Door Speakers

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I have a 2017 MKZ w/ the base 11-speaker audio system. I've already added a subwoofer/sub amp via an LC2I from the rear deck speakers.

I've changed the front door speakers and I'm still less than thrilled, so I'd like to amplify them. I've lurked around this forum, facebook groups, and a few youtube videos (along with fusion content), and I've been unable to figure out how to get the signal back to the door speakers. I believe that I can tape into the wire harness on the B-pillar passenger side to get the signal to the LOC or hi-level inputs of an amp, but where to tie into the wires for the speakers themselves?

Thanks. Any pictures or diagrams would be great.

Hello mkz313 I have a14 with the 11 speaker system.  The way I did mines using a LC7i I tap in to the speaker wires before the OEM AMP leaving the plug out to feed the LC7i which would connect

to a 4 channel AMP.  Then from the OEM AMP output unplug the speaker wires and tap from there to connect to the 4 channel AMP.

This might help for the wiring diagram  http://www.nicksmustangranch.com/Service_Manuals/

Thank you Izzy. I think the location of the OEM amp is the problem. I know that the OEM subwoofer amplifier is at the right rear of the vehicle, but I have no idea where the amp (I didn't think that there was one) is for the door speakers.

I used a javascript fusker to see all of the images (well load them) at the same time and I still didn't see it.
