Chris109 Posted July 16, 2020 Share Posted July 16, 2020 Mine has been messed up since Feb. Waze and Gobble Maps freeze up. Especially when I change entertainment sources. When it does, I have to unplug from the usb port for AA to reset. I get no notifications from Waze if I am listening to an external drive. And, with Waze, if I put in directions, the map itself jumps all over. I think Sync is messed up. Coming up on an oil change. I guess I'll have them do a diagnostic. Being a 2017, means you have Sync 2 (I'm guessing cuz ford/lincoln updated some and other other about that time), and yes it's not great... Sync 3 is better, if you want to , you can pay about 400-600 and get it swapped out for Sync 3, and then you would be able to use AA or Car Play Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

We'll see. Hi Chris. Just thinking out loud here: When you updated to "SYNC3 v3.0.19205", did you perform the last step of the update directions? That step consists of returning to the SYNC3 update website, plugging the USB into your computer and following the instructions to notify Lincoln that you performed the update. Did it notify you that Lincoln received your update information? EDIT - Does both the SYNC3 update website and your SYNC systems "About SYNC" screen state that you have "SYNC3 v3.0.19205"? Or only the SYNC "About SYNC" screen in your car? If you did not successfully perform that notification process, Lincoln is not aware of your update. Keep us updated and good luck. It can only be performed by using non-factory, third party instructions and devices. Doing so can/will lead to Warranty claim denials on any problems you may have now/later with SYNC, your audio system, electronic and even electrical system issues. That also goes for any LincolnProtect extended warranty you may have. In addition, if you follow these third party SYNC4 updates, you will find that while many say their system "...works fine..." after the update, deeper research will find they almost all state that one feature or another no longer works, "But I don't use that feature anyway". Some have even wound up with SYNC 3.x systems that now speak German, French, Dutch, etc, since the files are actually from EU SYNC systems. ? I researched and decided not to do it. Bottom line is..if you care about your warranty, think long and hard before doing it. If not, or your car is out of warranty, it is your car and good luck with whatever you decide. ? You risk bricking it and then you would have to spend more money to get it replaced. I do not recommend going from 3.0 to 3.4 If the page said you had an update, did you see if it was higher than "19205" ? (and I think BBF typoed with SYNC4 and ment SYNC 3.4) ? Waze goes batty when I change 'source' for entertainment; esp when I stop playing something from external (usb) source. It's not my phone (Verizon) cause when I also had an ATT phone at the same time, AA did the same thing. Bought an extended warranty and need to have oil change in a couple of weeks.
