  1. I haven’t had my 2012 MKZ AWD long but it’s been running like a top! Went on a 2hr trip that did have some grades and out of nowhere I had power issues, seemed like trans was slipping and then the car totally died. At first it didn’t want to restart, but did eventually. Got about 100ft and bucking again and died. Left it off and it did a little better on restart. The third time the check engine light came on and then it ran pretty good. codes: P1719-FF, P0171-FF, P0174-FF, and P0171-C. = lean conditions and torque signal. I think the torque was because the engine was dying and I was trying to get it moving. I got home with the light on. I cleared codes and no malfunction but I’m getting a consistent code P-1000 on-board readiness (no engine light). Guessing PCM but open to thoughts!
  2. Ladies and Gentlemen: I hope you are all well. I have a 2012 MKz Hybrid with the CVT transmission. The car is ready to break 140,000miles. My issue is when I am on a steep hill the car does not start moving for a few seconds. It is almost like the transmission has to build up pressure to engage. There is no banging noises, but I have noticed when I stop there the transmission seems to "catch" and add additional stopping, like you were just ready to stop and jammed the brake to the floor, but not hard. I have changed the fluid over the life of the transmission and the fluid level is good and I changed it as my last change was about 35,000 miles ago. There were no chunks in the fluid and it was not dark. I have always used the Motorcraft LV fluid. The engine seems to be running fine. Another issue that may or may not be related is the car always starts the gas motor on acceleration. Previously it would start on the battery and in a few seconds engage the gas engine. Related to this I am down to 30 miles per gallon. Typically in the Pittsburgh PA winters I would get 35 miles per gallon and in summer 38/39 miles per gallon. Thank you for your support with my issue.
  3. I have had a few times when the transmission shift really hard. Another time it acts like it's in neutral and only revs the engine, then finds a gear. Doesn't sound good does it, bad transmission?
  4. Have 20,500 miles on our 2013 MKZ Hybrid Reserve 203A pkg, Took it in for the 20K service, Prior to this I change the oil at 14,000 miles and while doing so I noticied several oil drops on bolts at the transmission case split line and wiped it down with alcohol. So at the dealer I asked them to take a look in the area and report back. Well it turns out that the oil drops returned and theres a Bulletin out that if there are signs of leakage they are to drain and road test and if the drained fluid is dark the transmission is to be changed, They did and when updating the software a corrupt file on Lincolns scantool fryed the ABS logic so that had to be changed {lots of labor to do that}, and they did. So at 20K check your trans fluid and be ready, the car showed no symptoms of transmission slippage prior to this event.
