  1. Just picked up my MKZ about a week and a half ago. It's the 3.0t AWD Reserve model with the Drivers Package. Has a little over 36k on the odometer. I traded in my 2009 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 for this so the trend shows I prefer fun sedans. I absolutely love this car and the way it drives. The upgrades are coming in time. Just wanted to say hello!
  2. Hi all, New to forums--and have a 2017 black reserve AWD 3.0 with all packages except moonroof--which I didn't want. I looked long and hard for it--found it with 8,000 miles, and had been driven by a female Lincoln exec based in Detroit. Got an AWESOME deal..... (sticker was just under $60K). Anyway, I'm wondering if others have experienced short battery life with their vehicles? I recognoze that there's a lot of drain inherent in this car, butit's only 3 years old, at 38k miles..... Dealer says since it can still hold a charge, he can't replace it under warranty. Which I think is ridiculous! Another question: I have the Revel Ultima sound dydtem. I've been in and out of serious music during my 65 years of life, and to me----the sound stinks on XM/Sirius. It's "ok" on HD radio, etc. Anyone else notice a lousy tinny sound with XM?? Thanks for reading this! JRW
  3. I just changed the gear oil on my PTU in my 2017 AWD 3.0t. I'd thought I'd post a picture of my results for any future members who decide to take on the challenge of changing ptu oil. All in all, pretty easy to change with the vehicle on ramps in the driveway. Approx 22 oz is what came out, so 22 oz went back in.
  4. Don't have a Z yet, but after a year of researching cars, I'm pretty sure I've decided on the MKZ. Now I'm just pinning down the options I'll look for. Enthusiast forums are the best place for info on a car and this looks to be the most active forum dedicated to the Z. So, thanks for having me! I'm looking for a '14-'16 Reserve with the Ecoboost, a/c seats, moonroof (pano a +) & THX. Now I'm comparing FWD w/ AWD. I'm in the south so I don't have to worry about snow, but I do like responsive handling. I want to drive the two back to back for comparison. Atlanta's up the road from me and there are quite a few to choose from there. I've Googled and key word searched this site but haven't found a definitive answer. I know that the summer tire handling pkg only came on the AWD. The dark painted pocket 19" wheels seem to be the main indicator, but I'm seeing those on FWD cars also, so it's not a for sure tell. How can I tell for sure?
  5. The dealership completed my first oil change on my 2016 at just under 9000K miles in mid-March. I checked the oil last week at about 10,800 miles and was surprised how low it was, see the picture for reference. I was also a bit surprised how dark it was as well. Even before the oil change it was never this low or this dark. Took it to the dealer and not surprisingly, I was told this is normal. (I'm already skeptical of the dealership for other reasons) This seems a bit off to me and the last two cars I owned (one of which was an Ecoboost Ford) never went thru oil this fast. In fact, I've never owned a car in 25+ years that burned thru a quart of oil in 1800 miles. I have the 2.0 engine and it runs fine, no smoke or burning smell and no drips on the garage floor, so i'm stumped. Anyone else have a similar experience or words of wisdom on this?
