  1. Robert, I was able to pick up a Vivitar DVR787HD Action camera from the Mart of Wal during the holidays, liked the picture/sound quality, options in the kit and what it did, so I picked up another for my father to use when he drives to/walks around the car cruises he goes to without me. I'll have to check and see if I can charge it while recording?? I do not see it for sale anymore at the Mart, but if you find a Vivitar, don't discount the quality for the price. I would love to find an inexpensive, 360 degree, motion detecting one to just leave in the car 24/7. Would have been nice to have one like that prior to my nice door ding......:( As a follow up, my Google calendar process has worked so far. Also signed up for Sync traffic text notification (signed up for text message alerts in the Sync owners website) as I will not pay Sirius for their traffic warnings when free apps do it for free. So far, that has worked going to work and coming home. Just wish there was an app integrated into Sync (or that we can even add apps) that would be cleaner, seamless, autonomous in this process.
  2. Hi all, Lately, I have tried figuring out a better way to remind myself in the MKZ on things I need to take care of when I arrive at my destination or for later tasks that I need to complete. When I got the MKZ I was excited to see an actual calendar, then felt deflated when I could not set reminders/appointments with it. Additionally, I often find myself driving and out of nowhere an important task comes to mind, (call city on those potholes) in which I need to jot down to remind myself, but I am driving, so I need a recorder of such. I have looked through voice commands and confirmed with Ford. No such feature. Short of buying a mini Digital Voice recorder for those moments, then listen to the recorder to set a date in my calendar, I have started doing this and wanted to share what is working if you too are in need of a solution like this. 1st, I have a gmail account which affords me Google Calendar. Apple may have a feature....may. I can sync up my Blackberry default calendar with my gmail account Google Calendar and any entry into the blackberry calendar, populates in gmail. Google calendar then allows you to add a mobile phone for either email or SMS Text reminders of calendar events. Since the MKZ does not accept email as a form of message, I select SMS Text as the method of message reminder within the Google Calendar settings. Once in the car driving, Google Calendar sends me a SMS Text at the specific time I set, then the MKZ notifies me through Sync and I can listen to the reminder message...hands free. The reverse of this is I have my phone number added in my contacts and use a default voice control program to request a calendar reminder (mail out birthday card when I get home, look up business address, etc) which Google will send a SMS Text out at that specific reminder time. My phone constantly reminds me I have a message or the text is stored for me to review later. Like I said, this is a way around always having a mini Digital Recorder to record those times I need to remind myself of something important. I have also found myself distracted, losing focus of important stops on the way home, especially if it is snowing and there is traffic or I have to play the homeless shuffle on the walk to the car from work. I can set the calendar to remind me "XX" minutes/hours/days at a certain time and when in the MKZ, I get the text to them remind me to make the stop at a specific gas station, so take this route home, etc. I hope this helps, unless you have a better suggestion or have had better experience with another program. With unlimited text messaging, all this costs me is a little time.
  3. Another irk is I do not store album art on my MP3's. I would rather have the room for music than the art. Ford confirmed for me that there is no way to remove the stock, default, art image present on every song you play on MyLincolnTouch. There will always be an image present on the song screen. Just FYI.
  4. Hi all, I have looked around as well on the Fusion forums, but not seeing an answer to this, I am curious if there is a way to re-organize the media device order, within the Sync Entertainment area, specifically, I want the Am radio and Sirius to be the last options in the column and USB, FM Radio and CD to be above? Any option to do that?
  5. Rick, in the summer, I would not object to a prototype cooler. I will run it past the dealer next time I am in the area and let you know what they find. Just odd that it is letting cold air in around the lower part of the center console, and there should be nothing open right there, unless the console is acting as a conduit for cold air to blow in from an opening in the front dash/ engine bay?? I need a Ford thermal test performed ;) I am definitely not liking how ice is building up around the wiper blade arms. I have to look into a cover option when parked outside over night or at work. But, so far, even with the little "things" I am finding, all-in-all, this is a dang good vehicle. No Toyota jump of joy when I get out, but I look at it a few times as I slowly walk away from it.
  6. X2 for Traction Control on and Snow tires or you can do what I did, knowing the stock 19" Michelin tires and Lincoln wheels would not cut it in NEOHIO snow (nor will the finish of the wheels last), I purchased same year, new take-off Fusion wheels and tires and they have done pretty good so far. Has helped with potholes and road bumps due to plows as well. My OEMs are safely secured in vacuum sealed space bags in my dry basement (awaiting the three months I can safely drive on them in decent summer weather). With the cost of snow tires, going through the hassle of mounting and un-mounting each season, I was able to purchase all four tires/wheels/TPMS and put wear on those tires when the weather is bad, and when it is not, they do not look too bad.
  7. Looking at some Lincoln MKZ photos and I noticed on the Lincoln Stock press release photo of the 2013-2014 MKZ, it has dual exhaust sections on each individual exhaust bezel. This looks great and I was really hoping to find a pair to replace my single exhaust bezel, but it does not appear any are made and it is also not a new feature for 2013-2015 models when I build my own car through Lincoln. Anyone see a pair for sale or can provide any info on why the stock photo for press release showed this dual bezel, but the final design was changed to the current single bezel? What is even more odd, CD3 Performance has a header advertisement on this forum that showcases a modded MKZ that has my desired dual bezel. Checking their site, no product offered. I can inquire with them, but was curious if any insight out there from anyone on this topic?
  8. Lexol ph cleaner, which I use on all seats, the doors, trim and salt stains during winter, let all air dry and then Lexol conditioner the seats. Let that dry overnight (never condition in freezing temperature) then wipe/buff in the morning. I trust Lexol on all my leather goods. Stay away from products with silicone.
  9. Hello all, Just entered the first winter with my '14' MKZ Hybrid and with the temps in NE OH dropping to around 20-30 degrees, I am getting a lot of outside cold air coming in through the front center console (console with cup holders and where the lower storage is at). There are times when after driving for a good 20 minutes with heat, I can grab the center console on the sides and it is as cold as outside. Anyone else (in cold weather climates) experience this or does this sound like I am missing some insulation/seal to prevent this from happening? Did not notice it that much during the summer, then again, was enjoying the air and cooled seats then.
  10. Looks really nice, congrats, enjoy!
  11. I see the thread is a little dated but question for Ken, did you get the tire replacement insurance at time of Lease? If not, then that was great customer service by Lincoln. I did not opt for the tire replacement insurance at time of lease and had a side blow out from hitting a pothole with my 19" tires. I too had a great experience with roadside assistance, but I also proactively purchased a spare tire prior to the blowout, which roadside assistance installed for me, freeing him up to assist others. Since my blowout was at night, the spare allowed me to drive home and deal with the situation in the morning. The dealership did not have the tire in stock when I called them, so I parked the car until they did to minimize any driving on the spare. Did the dealership replace the TPMS module when they replaced the tire, or have any issues cleaning the inside of the wheel due to you using the tire mobility kit? If yes, then I can see the spare I purchased paying for itself with time. I do not wish this upon anyone, but given the decay in the U.S. roads, I am glad your experience was as good as you state it was and we have piece of mind in roadside assistance.
