  1. Congrats! :headspin: We like our 2013 MKZ so much, I decided to lease another one. We will be going from our current V6 to a Black Label Hybrid. Initially, I wanted to get the new MKX but since it won't be getting Sync 3 in the initial year (and maybe some other features), I'm going to order the new one sometime next month. Fully loaded, the Black label is 'only' $4K more than the regular one and considering the gas we will be saving, I can live with that. And no, I don't want a different grille or buttons and knobs on the center console either. The current MKZ is a piece of art and you can't simply switch the grille. You can certainly design a different, great looking MKZ - but you can't simply switch design elements on such a vehicle.
  2. It's probably an MKT-replacement (3 rows) since the MKT will be thrown out.
  3. Same here. I never missed the buttons. My sales-advisor who drives an MKZ as well also stated that a simple addition of buttons wouldn't suit the design too well. Alternatively, he mentioned some sort of pop-up dials/buttons as a possible solution. I thought that was pretty smart...
  4. I guess that's coming, too. http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/ However, be careful what you wish for. I would be surprised if Sync 3 would be launched without similar issues. On my 2013 MKZ, I have to say that MyLincoln Touch runs quite smoothly. The only issue I ran into was when I couldn't set the A/C temperature once. That was it over the 14 months of ownership so far.
  5. AFAIK, they are just doing that right as we speak. The MKC has buttons, the new MKX has buttons and I wouldn't be surprised if the new MKS and refreshed MKZ will get buttons, too. Personally, I never missed them and If they would simply add them to the current interior of the MKZ, it will destroy the sleek and clean design. The other things you mentioned are industry-standards in regards to safety. If you think it's dangerous to take your eyes off the road to seek through radio-stations, I have to tell you it's not any safer to enter a destination into the Navi or pair a phone while driving. Sure, somebody else could do it - but honestly, the same applies to seeking through radio-stations, right? ;)
  6. Welcome to the club! :headspin:
  7. We had to replace the struts once on our 2009 - but you can certainly tell when they are done. That's when you realize how heavy the trunk lid actually is...

    Hello

That's funny. In that case, I'm really wondering why they "invented" the black antenna in the first place. I'm not complaining though - I actually like the appearance of the car with the antenna.

    Hello

Congrats on your new ride - you'll love it! :) Now, THAT'S interesting and certainly new!
  10. Congrats and welcome to the club! :) Yes, the "S"-button is truly magic - also on the V6. The only reason I don't use it more often is that it is so responsive, you really need AWD to keep traction. My current one is not AWD but my next one will - that's for sure!
  11. What I'm saying is that your extensive list of issues with the MKZ is everything but typical for this car. You obviously got a lemon but that does not mean that the MKZ in general tends to have many issues. Since the MKZ itself is an awesome vehicle, you should consider replacing this lemon with a different MKZ - in case they decide to take it back. I mentioned the Nav.-System because after the initial launch of MyFord/MyLincoln Touch, the system was commonly slow/unresponsive and freeze-ups were quite common. I, however, never experienced any of these issues. My 2013 MKZ is equipped with the Preferred Equipment Group 103A, the Technology Package, V6 engine and the Panoramic Roof (my favorite feature).
  12. Wow, that list of issues certainly is long...When they take it back due to the Lemon Law, you should really consider another MKZ as a replacement. The car itself is simply outstanding. I've had my MY13 3.7 for 9 months now and didn't have a single issue with it. Initially, I was a bit concerned since it was the first MY of this car - but to my surprise, everything worked out great. And I really mean no issues. Not even a single freeze-up of the nav-unit. Nothing. It almost sounds too good to be true but it really is.... ;)
  13. Congrats and welcome! your new ride looks very clean and well maintained.
