  1. Happened at least twice to my 2014 when I still had it, I am almost sure I posted a thread on here but can't locate it, I tried searching for "GPS" & "NAV" but no results shown.....maybe the search engine is not working because it didn't show this thread either.

    Edited to add

    Found it

Still not sure why "Search could not find it by "NAV" as that was in the body of the OP..... maybe search word too short, I found it by search for "satellite"

  2. There are a number of silver paint markers out there, I believe Sharpie is one brand. May have to experiment a bit to find the right shade.

Check hobby stores like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.....also Walmart. We use them in the bike shop to write numbers on black bike parts

I guess years of production with minimal changes does have an affect.  Your father telling you never to buy a first-year car wasn't just repeating an old-wives tale.

Interesting how the Fusion is considered mid-size and the MKZ is in the 'compact' category.?

That was what I was thinking, I never thought of my Z as a compact

I feel kind of stupid like I'm missing something obvious, and I hope I am, but does anyone have any advice for actually getting to the fuses? I can't figure a way to get my hand to the fuses and still be able to see them. In fact, I'm trying to figure out how you can view the fuses well enough to see the visual indication of being blown.  Granted, fuses don't typically blow very often but I can't imagine why Ford made this block so darn inaccessible!

Look at this post above from Chris109 on Oct 20, it gives you info on folding down the panel hiding the fuse block

  5. Jumping in as a former Hybrid owner, I have jumped other vehicles both from the posts in the engine compartment and the battery in the trunk. No difference.

Never had to hook up a charger to my battery but I do not see  a valid reason to use one location over the other other then convenience, both should accomplish the same task. I think it is easier to use the hood posts and easier to see rather then go through the trunk access door.

I believe I once hooked up a charger/booster battery to the hood posts while changing the actual battery. I did this to maintain all the memory settings,... worked fine, just have to be careful because the cabling is live..

  6. Check the drains for your a/c condensate line, may be plugged.

I have also seen cars where the drains in the doors (along bottom edge) are stuck or plugged and make a swishy sound when accelerating or braking, check those as well

Hi Linc4chelle. Not sure exactly where you need access to, so don't know if this will help. It shows how to remove some of the center console trim to gain access to the center stack. It may help you get to a point that you can open up the right side of the console/centerstack to gain access to where you need.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

bbf2530, not sure if you were going to attach a file or provide a link but I don't see anything there.

Linc4chelle, have you tried a magnet on a string to retrieve the screwdriver?

Did an HID upgrade today on my 2006 zephyr, I bought a can-bus Kit For proper installation. I initially connected to the factory plug backwards as (the kit can plug in either way) So I switched it around and the light work perfect, but I’m still getting a “check left headlight” message. Can I clear that somehow?

So if you put back in the old headlights, does the message go away?

Still, tho, the battery that is listed in the manual is a lot smaller than the one that fits snug.  So, "CR2032 or equivalent." is not exactly right if the one that fits is a CR2450.  The 2032 may still work, but it would slide around inside the fob.

I doubt it would have worked as would not stay in contact with the connection around the edge of the battery hole.

  10. Earlier model years of the MKZ had a different fob that what Chris is showing. for my 2013 & 2014 models they looked like this

    2014-lincoln-mkz-smart-proxy-keyless-rem

but I stand corrected, the battery in that fob was a CR 2025, this from page 53 of the 2013 manual

    Quote

    The remote control uses two
    coin-type three-volt lithium batteries
    CR2025 or equivalent.

We had a previous thread about battery changes in the 2014 model also here (also a CR2025 battery

  11. Chris,

I had changed the batteries in my remotes before I traded it the MKZ and they did have CR2032 batteries. I original remotes had a large lincoln logo on the rear as I recall.

I think it's (EDIT- Link removed by Moderators for safety reasons)

Law is 7 years after it's made for new or replacement parts...

Both those links go nowhere, just saying

Hi gang. Still hoping everyone is healthy and safe.

Just broke 8,000 miles on my 2018 MKZ, which will be 2 years old on June 1. And 100 miles of that was driven yesterday, when we socially distantly visited old friends, for the first time since this all began.

Keep staying safe and good luck.

Wow, Can't say I have been as reluctant to drive. New vehicle that I picked up in 1st week of Jan already has almost 8k. My wife's on the other hand is a 2015 and only has 8k now ?

For one maybe two but when I need to transport four there is no way, thus the need for the rear trailer type bike rack.

Once I get all the parts, I'll post a picture of it all together.

Finally remembered to take a shot with a load of bikes, This is one from yesterday delivering a dozen bikes to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Enterprise Florida with my partner Pete in the background. The trailer was donated to us by one of our supporters and a fellow "Biken Men"
