Don't be fooled by just reading voltage on a button battery... if your first fob is giving you a warning, better to change them all.... BTW did you read the posts above, there is a 2nd battery in each fob

Well, it has been about a month and the problem has not resurfaced. But a new issue has started, a fault In the air bag system After starting the car, the air bag warning light goes out for 1-2 seconds and then remains on solid. i looked at the connections under the seat and all appears to be plugged in tight, so back to the dealer it goes ?

My understanding is that in the hybrid model, the 12 volt battery does not "start" the vehicle but that it runs all the electrical systems

Many things could cause losing mpg but the battery would not be IMO the first thing I would suspect. I would look at brakes, especially a hanging caliper

check fuses .... also if you have not had the battery replaced yet in that 2014, I would have it checked, strange things happen when the battery start going.

Evidence of the standard battery going are different in the hybrid as the battery is not the engine starter. If you start to notice quirky things wrong or not functioning as they normally do, have your battery checked asap, especially if it is 4 year +/- time frame.

If you are using pencil and paper to track just the last tankful then you will be off. You need to track overall history to be truly accurate. Looking at your fill up gals vs the mileage from your last fill up mileage for an "instant" number is not an accurate method.

I don't think I have ever remote started my 2014... no engine to really warm up (hybrid) and the last thing I need down here is heated seats ? However when I had the 2013 with the 2.0 turbo, I believe I had started it remotely (for the A/C to come on) and also lowered the widows remotely to let the steam out ?

New Catalytic is in, picked my car back up Friday afternoon....we'll see if it cures the issue Funny thing was the dealer originally told me, nobody else had that identical issue but when I picked the car up Friday they sang a different tune, there was a 2013 MKZ coming back that was also told that the intermittent Check Engine Light and the P013A code was being cause by a faulty catalytic.
