  1. I cannot say that the gas directly killed them but they were the collateral damage.
  2. Followup to this topic.... the rumbling is gone After having my issue with bad gas last month and the final result of that was to change out the ignition coils for cyl 1 & 2, the rumbling has stopped..... maybe it was a marginal ignition coil causing the issue?????? Bad Gas post here
  3. The corporate office of the Gas station has a double claim on file from me, 1st was for the cleaning of lines, tank, filers, fuel pump and the 2nd was for the ignition coils. Both claim also have rental car charges.... We are still waiting to hear back from them on the outcome of the claim.... total was $1,560.00 for everything here is a picture of the gas they pulled out of my tank (on right), vs fresh gas on the left
  4. Great news, picked it back up ;last night and all is now good. They ended up replacing the ignition coils on cylinders 1 & 2 which was causing the misfiring.??
  5. Update - Now three tanks of gas in, one with Heet and the next two with SeaFoam, still not running right so back to the Lincoln dealer it goes. Dropped it off yesterday morning.
  6. Is it possible that that model year had 2 different type of headlights available (standard and HID) and the missing components are for the other type? HID types do take a much larger current and may have required relays and additional power fuses.
  7. Having both lived in NY and FL, I can tell you that glass coverage is different between the two states. As mentioned above, in NY, $0 deducible on full glass coverage is an optional coverage and I always carried that. Upon moving to FL I was informed that option was not available but included as a $0 deducible with Collision coverage.
  8. Exactly, Got the car back but still running a little rough, I dropped a bottle of Heet dry gas in the fresh tank of gas, hopefully that clears the rest of the trapped water.
  9. Yes I did pay with a cc and the corporate office has already verified that purchase. Stopped by the service station early afternoon yesterday and they showed me a glass of gas they pumped out of the tank. It was not clear sort of milky looking and when you swirled it around it was noticeable that there were two different type of fluid that would not mix. They took picture of that glass sitting next to another of "fresh" gas. WOW, what a difference. They will continue to work on the car today.
  10. Manager of the station said that they were waiting on a filter service but no one else complained about problems, that was at 6am Monday. Dropped the car off at my service station and they could not believe how bad it sounded. They too are suspecting bad gas. Car will be drained Tuesday and tank dropped for the rest of the servicing to the fuel system.
  11. Thanks, will keep everyone updated I did drop an email to Corporate (large retailer here in South) yesterday and will also contact by phone on today. Will be going down to station to talk to manager as well early today. I was afraid that this was going to get expensive and am super busy with the charity bike shop right now too. Damn
  12. So I gassed up earlier today in my 2014 MKZH and about 10 miles later the car was bucking, and the check engine light is blinking. Stopped at an AutoZone and the diagnostic showed all 4 cylinders misfiring. The strange thing is it took about 15 minutes to fill the tank. I think I got some bad gas. So now what do I do to get rid of it and change the filters? Does the gas station have any liability for the repairs? Never experienced this before. Heeeeeelp??
  13. I only said wow because I would expect them to last longer on a hybrid, you may have other issues. I'm at 78k and still no need for a brake service..... Yet ?
  14. Your vehicle MAY be involved in a safety recall and MAY create a safety risk for you or your passengers. If left unrepaired, a potential safety defect could lead to injury or even death. Safety defects must be repaired by a dealer at no cost to you. Why am I getting this email? You are receiving this message because you requested to be notified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) if there is a safety recall that may affect your vehicle. The following may apply to one or more of your vehicles if your vehicle is listed below. Click on the NHTSA Recall ID Number below to read more about the safety issue and the reason for the recall. To find out if your specific passenger vehicle is included in the recall, use our VIN Look-up Tool. NHTSA Recall ID Number : 19V632 Manufacturer : Ford Motor Company Subject : Steering Gear Motor May Detach Make Model Model Years FORD EDGE 2015-2016 FORD FUSION 2013-2016 LINCOLN MKX 2016 LINCOLN MKZ 2013-2016 What is a recall? When a manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines that a vehicle creates an unreasonable risk to safety or fails to meet minimum safety standards, the manufacturer is required to fix that vehicle at no cost to the owner. That can be done by repairing it, replacing it, offering a refund (for equipment) or, in rare cases, repurchasing the car. What should I do if my vehicle is included in this recall? If your vehicle is included in this recall, it is very important that you get it fixed as soon as possible given the potential danger to you and your passengers if it is not addressed. You should receive a separate letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, notifying you of the recall and explaining when the remedy will be available, whom to contact to repair your vehicle, and to remind you that the repair will be done at no charge to you. If you believe your vehicle is included in the recall, but you do not receive a letter in the mail from the vehicle manufacturer, please call NHTSA's Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236, or contact your vehicle manufacturer or dealership. 15. I have actually seen them stick closed thus trapping water inside the door. I was driving with a friend and heard all this water sloshing around the rear passenger side door. When we stopped I opened the door and popped it out, it was amazing how much water was inside the door.
  16. Jumper cables are always in mine, not for me but to help someone stuck. I do have a "Jump" Box also but it stays in the garage, like bbf2530 said, you have to remember to charge it once in a while
  17. Interesting - Seems my union (IBEW) is listed but not sure who to contact to get my Partner code to log in I am a retiree and it seems that I may be eligible There is a double asterisk after IBEW but do not see what that notation means.
  18. How much mileage does your 2016 have? I'm rapidly approaching 80K and brakes have not needed any service yet. ?
  19. Thanks Chris, Yeah, we dodged another bullet, but a real slow one at that. Here is a local timeline for the hurricane path that was published ?
  20. Part # = DP5Z-9942528-A My dealer GARY YEOMANS LINCOLN (parts dept) on Sat is who quoted the $90+ didn't list it wants $69.64 including shipping wants $56.25 including shipping Got one more place to check later today
  21. I certainly agree with staying with the smaller diameter (larger sidewall) tire for a softer ride... been there, done that and hated every ride. Now when I buy a car that is one of the first things I check
  22. Went through a car wash and lost the 2nd "L" on the trunk. I can't believe Lincoln parts wants over $90 for the set of letters. I tried ebay and a number of used part dealers on line but no one has got them for the 2014.... The older years were taller, these are 11/16" high. Anyone got any ideas other then a junk yard? Or maybe I should just de-badge it.?
  23. It does not, your main hybrid battery does the big work, the small battery just runs the electronics basically. There are other threads on here about some folks that installed a larger capacity battery. I got my replacement from Autozone just over a yr ago and so far so good, I didn't up the size.
