I believe the A/C is all electric and does not depend on the gas engine directly.

It also will depend if there is something else that requires the engine to be on, one of these I believe is a call for heat for the passenger compartment. I see you are in the Myrtle Beach area but has this happened when it was cooler outside (especially in the early mornings) and your desired inside temperature is higher thus a call for heat?

Well, my 2014 MKZhis in the shop and having the techs and managers scratching their heads. This past Wednesday I was attending to some inspections in our development and pulled over to email some information. I put the car in Park but did not shut off the engine, completed the email and was ready to move on to the next item. So I put my foot on the brake and pressed "D". The car started to roll forward and after about 5' went violently into Park. The "P" was flashing, there was a wrench symbol up on the left side of the dash and a message about a"shift-lockup failure. I cleared all the messages but could not get it out of park. So I turned off the car and restarted it after 5 seconds, the wrench was still there and the P continued to Flash, still would not go into gear. I turned it off again and waited 30 seconds and then restarted it, This time the wrench was still there but the P stopped flashing. I was able to move finally. I headed to my meeting 1/4 mile away and I returned to the car about 1/2 hour later. When I restarted it, the wrench was gone and everything seemed normal. I called my service advisor anyway to see if they wanted the car to check it out and they said yes. They had a loaner and to bring in the car asap if I could drive it. They called me Thursday to let me know that their transmission specialist was tied up and they were going to hold the car for another day. Friday when I spoke to them, they told me that there were no failure codes and asked me if I opened the door as I was driving away because that would put it in "Park". I wonder if it was a door switch failure that could have caused this? So here I sit with a bronzish red 2016 MKZ loaner, hopefully Monday they will have some news for me. For me the 2016 is not something I would own, it is about as a "plain-jane" version of an MKZ I have ever seen. Anyone else ever experience this type of symptom?

drive economically.... don't have a heavy foot on the gas or brake, take advantage of coasting. My overall (never reset) gas mileage at just over 16K is 38.0 mpg and I have 8 flowers

Simple solution is why not take one of your 5.1 DVDs and try it in the new models? If you like the quality of the sound then you are good to go.

Moe, I have had mine now for almost a year and have experienced a very smooth switch over. You may want to get yours in for service so they can see what is going on

Not as extreme as yours but I have been detecting a slow small drop in the average mpg for the last several months. Note I have never reset the average mpg to date since I took possession of the vehicle so all these reading are lifetime For the first 5-6 months I owned the 2014, it was rock solid between 38.9 to 39.0 avg mpg. It is now down to 37.9, slowly dropping .1 mpg every few weeks. I have not changed brands of gas or driving habits so I don't think it is that. a few things did happen just about the time when I noticed the first drop. 1st oil change nail found in tire and repaired sync updated I live in Florida so the AC is always running but this summer has been a constant hot season....maybe that is it.....what do y'all think?

As I have a 14 MKZ, my traffic/weather Travel link info was only complementary for 6 months but I did like how it integrated with the NAV. I am not a SAT radio guy either but I wanted the Travel Link. You can just subscribe to those services with SirusXM. I paid $75.72 for the year including taxes

I too have not had the Ambient lighting change back to default since I did the last update in my 2014 hybrid

The 2013 & 2014 come in without the DRL turned on from the factory (why I do not know) but I believe it is only setable from the dealer....

My 2014 h doesn't do that either, do not recall a setting for it as well. A call to mylincoln may be in order.

The DRLs in the 2013 is the while LED above the parking lamp leds and can be activated by the dealer. Mine did it for free in both my 2013 and 2014 MKZs

Yes, I had this happen in my 2013 MKZ, and I believe along with another warning about the "front camera" being blocked or words to that effect. There should be a code that the dealer can take action on. It took a while for them to come up with a fix but that was about 2 years ago. I know they have a correction for that one, just can't recall what it was as I got rid of my 2013's service tickets when I got the 2014 MKZh I drive now.

Nice review, the zippered bag keeps it out of the way and prevents unwanted tangling when not in use.

Total crap if your Lincoln dealer told you that. I have a 2014 MKZh also and no noise or rattling sound from the door no matter how loud I turn it up. I hate when someone says "There is nothing more I can do", they just didn't try hard enough. The sound system is great and maybe there is some loose item in the door but.......... I said enough

I have a 14 MKZ hybrid for about 7 months now and can't recall ever hearing that sound or anything close to it. Do you have anything working as a music source? memory stick, ipod, phone? Is it possible that it is your phone trying to use the Bluetooth connection? If it is happening regularly (every 2 minutes) then it might be a reminder tone for something. Check under your MKZ settings for your phone/text as to what the audio notification sounds are, maybe it is a message tone or something like that that you accidently set.

I have had other cars that also went the 10K between oil changes both a BMW and a Lexus. Never an issue as long as using the synthetic as recommended. I wouldn 't want to try 10K with regular oil

I would get it into service asap, I have a 2014 MKZh and do not experience this issue
