  1. Kathy the cause could be radio frequency interference (RFI). I've had and still have the issue at certain locations. For example, at my local train station they have a lot of electrical "stuff" behind a chain link fence. When I'm there in the parking lot I get the message that my key is not present. However, my car still starts. I can't open or lock the doors with any certainty. I have to use the key fob or key pad. Does it always happen to you at the same place? If you leave the location and come back does it still happen? You're not doing anything wrong it's just physics. If you look at page 48 (Keys and Remote Controls) of your 2014 MHZ owners manual they have a discussion about this issue.
  2. Oh well, so much for that Urban Legend. :)
  3. I could be wrong but I seem to remember that 3.8 was only for 2014. :(
  4. I was wondering how you may out. Glad in the end everything is working.
  5. Probably not the air conditioner because I believe you can use it even if the air conditioning is not on. The air coming out is really cool. It only takes a few minutes to really cool down. I'm sure someone else knows all the technical details.
  6. FWIW with the recent heat wave here in the Lower Hudson Valley of New York State, this summer is the first time I've really needed the cooled seats. Man am I glad I have them. :love_shower:
  7. I'm very happy with the carpeted and the "winter" mats that came with my 2014. Try this site: http://www.fordparts.com/?cks=16316990750&emailid=2015q2_fdpa_ClearAccess_DIY
  8. Thanks for being a good sport. I'm not familiar with the 2010 models. But could it be something to do with the filters, the wiring, connections? Since it is a full failure it should be easy for a technician to diagnose.
  9. I'm glad my MKZ is not affected. Also glad my wife's Jaguar (by Ford) is not affected either.
  10. It does that to minimize the wind noise. If you want it to open fully you press the button again. This is in the manual.
  11. It's a capless filler system. You insert the nozzle directly into the middle of it.
  12. Artie since our vehicles are pretty close in age let me know the condition of yours. It won't be a DIY for me since I don't have that trim removal tool.
  13. I never even activated it for the same reasons you let it lapse.
  14. The pano roof requirement is probably making it difficult to match. Folks who purchase the pano roof probably load up the options including AWD, a more powerful engine, etc. You may have to relax your requirements a bit.
  15. Since the advent of LEDs, most manufacturers have moved away from fog lights. They are now concentrating more and more on the ridiculous overuse of LEDs as a styling exercise.
  16. I'm not at my car at this time but, did you folding the back cushion of the seat down?
  17. Drolds1 (Artie) thanks for clearing that up. I haven't even noticed the plastic thingie ozman212 is talking about. Now, I gotta go out and find it. I hope it ain't scratched. ;)
  18. I have no answer for you. I can only point out there is probably a very good reason why the labor cost to replace the heater core is "insane". Trying to DIY may also be insane. :)
  19. Good deal. Glad it worked out for you.
  20. I've had this issue but rarely. There are a few locations where it occurs about 90% of the time. I chalk that up to possible RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) at that particular location. At times it will also display "No key detected" but it starts just fine. I can also lock/unlock the doors using the key fob. Does is always happen at the same places?
  21. I can't remember what I paid for last year.
