  1. Congratulations ....... Enjoy the ride!
  2. Has anyone attempted to get their 13/14 MKZ tinted? How much did you get it done for? My local tint guy says he will do the four side windows for $ 170 (ceramic tint i think) and will not do the rear window as he does not have the right tools to reach the narrow bottom where the rear glass meets the back. Also, I am thinking of switching out the wheels on my car to 20" (preferably concave shaped). Any good recommendations?
  3. @drolds, Joseph I got off the phone with another dealer service center today regarding the Temp readout in guage cluster. They say that it is present in all the MY 2014 MKz and a missing readout might mean a loose connection to the sensor or a need for reprogramming of the APM. I will try to visit this dealer and see if they can provide a fix for it. @drolds. At first I did not see the compass readout in the cluster next to ODO. When I switch from compass mode to entertainment or Phone, the abbreviated direction appears on the left side of the ODO readout. The temp fix is not bothering me as much as the MPG readout and VHR as I have it on display on the SYNC screen. But putting it in perspective of the car costing me $40k+, it will eventually get fixed when I have soaked in the awesome ride (after a couple of months). I am enjoying the ride so much that I don't want to stay away from it ... even for a day or 2. :love_shower: Last night, I spent almost 2 hours cleaning the interior, polishing the leather, etc. etc.. When I went back to my home, my wife commented: You better clean your self as thoroughly as you cleaned the car. ;)
  4. I have AT&T mobile service. The VHR issue was more to do with the progressive snapshot device plugged into the ORB port. Once I removed it and did a master reset, it started working. "little problems" are driving me nuts too. Unfortunately for the temp readout in the gauge cluster, they don't seem to know what the problem is. I am going to try a different dealer in a few days and find out if they know how to fix it.
  5. I experimented quiet a bit with the 2.0. My issue with the 2.0 is the engine noise. Lincoln uses active noise dampening (through speakers) in the 2.0 to reduce engine noise. You may not notice it at first but after a few hours of driving, there is a slight high pitch tone (not sure if its speaker over compensating or actual engine noise) that I dont hear in my 3.7. This tone is more audible in the 55 - 80 mph range especially during gear changes. If your radio is on, you are not going to hear it. I just happen to notice it by accident. Performance wise, I don't feel the difference. My loaner was a 2.0 AWD version and it felt really zippy for in-city driving.
  6. Thank you. Cant say much about reliability at the moment as it has only been a month. The glitches I have noticed so far seem to be from poor QA inspection on these vehicles. I only noticed them when I drove a loaner. Ride wise, these machines are smoooooooooooooth! Can't wait to see how the vehicle feels after break-in.
  7. Dropping in to say hello and post my new priced possession. Say hello to my 2014 Lincoln MKZ 3.7 FWD w/Tech package, Panoramic roof, Aluminium trims and Multi-contour seats Was off to a rocky start with: 1) Non-functioning HD radio 2) Instant mpg reading 0 3) VHR failures 4) Temperature readout not working in the guage cluster Problems 1, 2 and 3 fixed with TSBs and reprograms. No word on issue 4 (not really important as the temp readout is available on the 8" screen) All in all, a very smooth ride and surprisingly good customer service for repairs at my local dealer. This is great place for fellow "MKZers" to discuss and resolve issues.
  8. Posting an update: The dealer finally got back to me after 8 days saying that there was a TSB out for MKZs manufactured between Oct 13 and March 14 regarding guage cluster re-programming. I picked up my car today morning and the instant MPG readout is now functioning as expected. Also, for owners who use the "snapshot device" from progressive, it is not completely compatible with the SYNC system and you may lose functionality like VHR and NAVIGATION. The simplest fix for this is to do a master reset after you remove snapshot from the ORB port, when you are done. They still do not have an answer for the missing temperature readout in the cluster. Their current response is that it may not be available on the 14s. I do not believe them as I already drove 2 2014 Mkzs (one 2.0 and one 3.7) and both had the readout for temperature in the cluster.
  9. So I took my car to the dealer today for the fix on the Temp, Instant MPG bug and Vehicle report "Data Collection Fault" and in return I was given a 2014 3.7 Z as a loaner. In this vehicle, the Temperature display is present next to the car odometer reading and the instant MPG bar graph (white) goes up and down based on relieving and applying gas pedal, respectively. When I showed it to the Tech, he said that the early batch of 2014 Z have been coming in regularly for software reprograms due to improper module activation during the build stage. At this point he did not have a clue as to why this was happening and it seems that all the bugs in my car may be "fixable" with a software refresh and/or update. Will keep posted when I hear something.
  10. I drove a 2.0 ecoboost that showed the graph in MPG mode. I have the 3.7 FWD and in MPG mode i only see a white line near the zero on the scale. Shouldn't it be correcting for units when the units are changed to MPG? The eco boost model was actually displaying instant MPG on the scale between 0 - 40 depending on the amount of gas I was providing. I changed the units on my mkz to L/100 km and noticed the full length white bar when idling - which is technically incorrect considering i am sitting idle and my instant mpg would be 0 (irrespective of the units)
  11. I have the same issue. I took my 3.7 2014 mkz to the dealer for a sensor fix and when they gave me a loaner, the loaner 2.0 ecoboost AWD had the temp readout in the gauge cluster as well as the instant MPG bar graph that I don't see in my 3.7. Do all you 3.7 owners see the instant MPG (white) bar graph in your fuel economy section of the cluster?
