  1. Hi Chris. $500 is high for the 4G modem kit. Others have been able to negotiate a price in the $325-$350 area. So shop around any other convenient Lincoln or Ford Dealers in your are for a better price. The new modem needs to be installed and "programmed" .Programming takes a few minutes at most. So it would be safe to assume they are saying 90 minutes for the complete installation and programming. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  2. Hi Chris. Perfetto! ? Good luck.
  3. Hi Chris. Good to hear you were able to figure it out and finalize the update! ? Don't forget the final step, which is to upload the XML file (if one was loaded onto your USB drive) back onto the Lincoln SYNC 3 update website. This notifies Lincoln which version your SYNC 3 system currently has. If there is no XML file, then don't worry about it. Good luck.
  4. Hi Chris. What is the full SYNC version showing on the SYNC screen in the car? It might help if you post a photo of the SYNC version on your SYNC screen? Unfortunately, these issues usually occur due to user error. Either a missed step in the copying/transferring of the files from computer to USB, not running the engine the entire time, removing the USB too soon, etc. etc. Good luck.
  5. Hi blumagic. If you upgraded from SYNC 2 to SYNC 3.4, you replaced your APIM etc. Therefore, it is likely that your vehicle is no longer recognized by Sirius TravelLink as the vehicle attached to the subscription. My terminology will be off here, but what you probably need is for Sirius to transfer your TravelLink subscription from the old APIM registration/license etc., to the new one. If it can be done. Similar to buying new vehicle and transferring a Sirius TravelLink subscription from the old vehicle to the new one new. Good luck.
  6. HI John. The carrier can not be changed. Not sure why not, but no one has reported doing it successfully yet. Good luck.
  7. Hi jd. You can take a look thorough these Google results for tips: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=illuminated+lincoln+logo+ Some owners wire it into the side marker lights, or the headlight LED's, so it will illuminate when they do. Good luck.
  8. Hi dsn and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. Did you actually change the trans fluid or do you still need to change it? Definitely change it, if you have not already. However, be sure to use the proper specification replacement fluid, as outlined in your Owners Manual (see further below). To answer your question: Yes, as with any vehicle, someone here will have had some sort of hard 2-3 shift, or 1-2 shift, or 3-4...etc. etc. But none of that will likely help you determine what the problem may be with your transmission. If a full proper and professional transmission flush and fill does not help, you may need to have the transmission checked/reprogrammed etc etc. You could also try disconnecting the battery in your MKZ (for at least 10 minutes), then follow the Idle Trim Relearn procedure outlined in your Owners Manual. It may help to clear the old TCM memory and correct the adaptive shift algorithms. If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/ You can also register on the Lincoln Owners site here: https://www.lincoln.com/support/ Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  9. Hi Molinski. Not sure what the process is. Does your Service Manual clarify at all what the calibration process entails? It may be able to be performed with ForSCAN software, but I am not sure. Perhaps one of our ForSCAN experts will weigh in. Otherwise, a Lincoln, Ford or competent independent shop would probably be needed. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  10. Hi Molinski. You may be correct. However, the only way to know for sure would be for them to post back. Unfortunately, neither member has been active for ~1 year plus. Perhaps they will see this and do so. Good luck.
  11. Hi lincoln. You can try throwing parts at it, such as replacing the APIM etc. However, it may be better to have it properly diagnosed and corrected by a Lincoln Dealer. I am sure others will jump in with more suggestions. Let us know ho you make out and good luck.
  12. Hi lincoln. So it seems you have no audio, NAV or phone connection. Have you tried a SYNC system reset, following the instructions in your Owners Manual? Try that and post back.
  13. Hi Tom. No need to apologize. I understand you may not 100% believe it, but SYNC 3 versions have no ability to update via cell signal. Only WiFi network connection and manual USB updates. There is no secret cell update ability and this information can be easily verified with a little online research. SYNC 4 does have OTA/cell signal update ability. If anyone wants to carry this conversation on, please start a new thread, so we are not hijacking the original subject of this thread. Good luck.
  14. Hi Tom. Just to avoid confusion for other owners regarding SYNC 3/3.3/3.4: Lincoln cannot "push updates over Cellular" to our vehicles at all. Our SYNC 3 equipped vehicles do not have the ability to be updated or even receive updates via cellular signal. SYNC 3 and it's iterations can only receive SYNC updates via WiFi network or manual update via USB. SYNC 4 vehicles do have the ability to receive OTA (Over The Air) updates via call signal. But SYNC 4 is a far more advanced system with far more advanced capabilities. Good luck.
  15. HI lincoln. Okay. Then other possibilities: There is a battery reset procedure which needs to be performed after a battery replacement. Otherwise, certain vehicle features may not be available until the reset is performed. Was it performed? If it was not, letting the car sit completely untouched for at least 8 hours will also perform the reset. However, by completely untouched, that means at least 8 hours, locked, completely untouched, not checked with the LincolnWay app, not approached with the keyfob, etc. etc. But I would assume it sat for at least 8 hours at some point since the battery was changed? If not, this could be the problem. You could also try a full SYNC reset, following the procedure outlined in your Owners Manual. Also, I asked but you must have missed: Have you been able to connect a phone? Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  16. Hi lincoln. Silly question...but have you turned on the audio system by pressing the power-on button below the SYNC screen? Can you connect a phone? Good luck.
  17. Hi lincoln. Yes, there is a belt routing diagram in our Owners Manual. Towards the back in the "Maintenance and Specifications" section. I have looked in the past for others. Good luck.
  18. Hi lincoln and welcome to the Lincoln MKZ Forum. They are there. They would not be particularly easy to see (or feel), with slush a covered rocker panel (as in your photo). Also...they are at the bottom of the rocker panel, not on the side where they are easy to see (in real life or in your photo). Probably in the general area under (as in lower, not behind) where the snow is in the left side of your photo. Unfortunately, you will need to get down on your hands and knees and look. If you can not find the triangle (it points down), then look and/or feel for the notch in the pinch weld. That is where you place the scissor jack. I would estimate 8"-12" behind/in front of the front/rear wheel wells. I would go out and measure my car, but we just had 9" of snow that I cleared from my house and 5 of my neighbors, so I'm now in warm, dry clothes and in for the weekend. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  19. Hi Kevin. It is a Consumer Reports article. So we would assume it is "legit" at this point. Is your MKZ suffering from this problem? Either way...thanks for the heads up. Good luck.
  20. Hi. RG. Keep in mind that if there is overspray on the windshield, there is very likely overspray on most any surface of your car that was not covered. It is just easier to see on the windshield. That being said...As Izzy stated, first choice would be to take it back to the shop that did the painting and have them correct their mistake. Including any other areas of the car with overspray. If you can not do that for some reason, then buy yourself an automotive claybar paint cleaning kit, and follow the instructions to remove the overspray. Meguiar's and Mother's make/sell good versions. That would be better than a headlight cleaning kit. Plus, you can use it on your paint in the future. Personally, I would take it back to the shop and let them check and clean whatever they got overspray on. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  21. Hi leftoverture. Oooops, have to apologize. Saw that I misspelled "linear", so went to edit my post, but I accidentally edited the spelling in your quote of my post. Sorry. Good luck.
  22. Hi lefoverture. Sorry is this seems like a dumb question, but concerning your statement that "...it's not registering the odometer or anything.": Do you mean the the odometer reading on the app is not increasing as you drive? Or is the odometer reading not showing up on the app at all? I am assuming you mean it is not showing on the app at all...since it will not increase as we drive. At least not in any smooth/linear sort of way. Again, sorry for the dumb question, but I just wanted to be sure I understand that issue correctly. Good luck.
  23. Hi leftoverture. Yes, our 2018+ MKZ's have a 4G modem. If it will not work, try deleting the app from your smartphone and reinstalling. If that does not work, then call Lincoln Concierge. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
  24. Hi mkultra. Why be skeptical? Most CEL issues are usually not hard to diagnose and resolve. The place to start would be to have your vehicle's OBDII system read for codes. Most big box auto stores (i.e AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, O'Reilly's etc.) will do it for free. Or have a third party auto shop you trust do it. Or a Lincoln or Ford Dealer. But the place to start is finding any DTC codes that may be present. Keep us updated and good luck.
