  1. The description starts on p. 255 of the owner manual. If you don't have one, you can download it here.
  2. TBH, I have no idea what this could be. It would be best for your friend to get a professional diagnosis in which a tech cna drive the car and your friend can identify the noise. BTW, AFAIK, there's no factory maintenance interval for the RDU.

    New guy here.

    CCD was introduced in 2013.
  4. Hello, George, and welcome to the forum. Glad to see you here.
  5. Thanks for the update. I don't see it on the ticket, but how many hours of labor was that?
  6. Mine is on Sport from day 1. I never switch. In fact, it was delivered that way. I’ve been dealing with the dealer leasing manager for so long that he knows where I prefer all the settings to be, and it's done in prep. I doubt that it has any significant effect on fuel economy.
  7. $690 for a hose?? There has to be more to it than that.
  8. The LKA is controlled by the camera in your windshield, contained in the black plastic housing below the mirror. If you want to properly clear PCM's memory, see here. Let us know how this turns out. I'm not so sure if that's the problem. It might be worth seeing what codes might be present.
  9. Indeed. Best wishes to all our wonderful members and their families.
  10. My pleasure. It'll be a miracle if everything works properly when it's done. Thanks for your good wishes, and right back at you!
  11. Followup: Left the car for service. MY SA called back the next day to say that there was a code P0024 in memory and that they applied SSM 50067 for sticking VCT solenoids and sent me on my way. This struck as a little odd in light of what he'd originally said about loss of communication with the AWD PTU. Lo and behold, the light reappeared upon ending a 60-mile road trip. Of course, this was on a weekend. On Monday, I headed back to the dealer. The SA again said that the system was showing loss of communication with the PTU. I left the car and went home in the same loaner I'd had the prior week (Corsair). The new diagnosis was that there's apparently a problem with the BCM sending false signals. They're going to replace it, but...you guessed it. It's on backorder. They're expecting it, maybe the end of January. I'm not looking forward to this. The SM shows a lot of trim pieces having to come off and many modules needing to be reinitialized, as well as reprogramming of the key fobs.
  12. Hi, mkaplan40 and welcome to the Forum. In answer to your question, no, the 245/40r19 is not an uncommon size at all. Here's a list of cars that use it. A quick search revealed that the Michelin CrossClimate has been replaced by the CrossClimate+ and it's just not offered in any diameter larger than 18" and no cross-section larger than 225 mm.
  13. I got 2 of those emails. Interestingly enough, it only discusses auto updates via Wi-Fi. There's no link to a program download. I'll check for the latter on the Sync or Lincoln Owner sites. Mine doesn't auto update even though it connects to my home Wi-Fi.
  14. Wednesday evening, I was on my way to dinner on a local street with red lights on every corner. After a time, the orange wrench light came on, along with the notice "See Manual" in the message center. There were no drivability issues. After dinner, the light was out on startup and stayed that way the whole way home. My wife used the car the next morning and no light. When she went out again in the afternoon, it was still off going, but popped on again during the trip home. I called my longtime S.A. He told me to wait a minute while he "tapped into" my car. He said that it looks like communication with the transfer case (PTU) module was lost. He knew the exact date and time the alert came up and, further, gave me dates of previous alerts that obviously hadn't triggered the light. So, I learned something. I didn't know that they can see this stuff in their systems without the car actually being there. That prompted me to check the vehicle health report on the Lincoln Way app. It showed nothing. Of course, the light didn't come back on yesterday or today, but since they have a record of it, that shouldn't be a problem. I have a service appointment next week.
  15. Yes, the 12V battery isn't used to start the car in the Hybrid, so it's consequently smaller than a conventional one. In your case, 12.03 might be adequate, since it's just used to power accessories, but IDK.
  16. My 2017 was cranking slowly. It read 12.0V on my DMM. I took it in, they told me there was no problem. A week later, it was dead. I jumped it and drove back. I drove home with a new battery a half-hour later. I guess I had a point after all.
  17. See this thread. The dealer fixed mine, but I don't remember what they did. It eventually came back anyway.
  18. It's supposed to go into NIGHT mode automatically when the headlights come on, unless that setting's been turned off.
  19. Your post has been moved to an appropriate section of the forums. The Forum Help and Suggestions area is intended for questions and comments about the operation of the website itself. Questions about the MKZ should be posted in an applicable sub-forum. WRT your question, I can't find the post now, but IIRC, a member attempted to get this to work on pre-2017 MKZ some years ago but was unsuccessful.
  20. Welcome, Ross. It certainly is a shame that there will be no more MKZs. I've had 2 1st-gens, and I'm on my 3rd 2nd-gen. If they were still offering them, I'd likely get another. Lincoln has abandoned us. I'm not, and never will be, in the market for an SUV/CUV.
