  1. We were looking at the Volt. It is a hatch back so there is some room in the back. But, after driving it, it felt cheap - like an electric Taurus. There are really no options or trims on the volt. Either cheap fabric or really cheap leather. No moonroof, no power seats... I would just keep my old Honda if I were looking for a stripped down hybrid.
  2. One drive and one good dealership and one new 2014 MKZ with most all the options - wow, what a great car! After looking at just about every hybrid/electric vehicle out there, we are very excited about our new 2014 MKZ. Here is a little praise for the dealership in AZ. Lincoln Forum Topic Kevin
  3. Let me start by saying, this is a first. Usually I deem searching for a new car a not-so-fun event. I do not like the "can we put you in one of these today", "what would it take..." type of cheap, non-personal sales tactics - that clearly show me that the salesperson and the dealer are just 'beginners" at sales and do not understand that every sale is different and every customer is unique. Now for my experience: After looking for a new hybrid (or plug in - we have had one for 10 years already - Honda), we looked at Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Tesla, Toyota. After visiting dealerships and reading about the technology and the models our final selections were - Ford, Kia, Chevy. The reason was it was those three was storage and fold down seats. (Notice Lincoln was not in the finalists). We decided to venture out and actually drive the models. Just so happened that we drove by the Lincoln (next to Ford) dealer and happened in to look at the MKZ. It was the best 90 mins of MKZ introduction one could wish for. They had several models, colors, interior and options. My wife took a drive with the salesperson (John) and I kinda wandered around the lot looking at the 3.7 MKZ and the other hybrids. Then another guy came out and asked if I had any questions. I said no, my wife was out taking a drive. He said, yes he knew, and just wanted answer any questions. Then he said, hop in this one, let me show you a few things... 30 mins later I was an MKZ technologist (or enough to be dangerous). Come to find out later he was the sales manager (Todd). When my wife returned from her (long) test drive, we compared notes. It was basically game, set and match - looking at the price vs. luxury, there is really little in the same ball park. We left the dealership with tons of information and an invitation to come back and allow them to answer any concerns or questions. Really at this point it was, what options would we like. We did continue to the other dealerships but the visits were brief when comparing their offerings to the MKZ. For once, these guys (Sanderson Lincoln) made the purchasing of a car a pleasant experience. Of course the only option we did not get was the rear shade (not available with the pano roof) - Last note, the massage seats are the best! Before you ask - I am not related to or have any interest in the dealership. This is just unsolicited praise for a unique car buying experience. Kevin (2014 MKZ)
  4. I will see if I can post some pictures - if I can ever get my wife out of the car. The massage seats are a big hit!
  5. How many miles did it take to get flowers? I seem to stuck on vines at this point.
  6. Well have after having 2 Honda Hybrids for the last 7 & 10 years, we decided that we needed something a little bigger - but still good mileage (we are used to 60mpg ++). Here is where the story gets interesting, I thought that it would be some Japanese, Korean or other foreign car. After driving the Sonata (not a chance), the Optima (mileage is not great), the Volt (certainly an option - not very comfortable), the Fusion (hybrid and plug in), the new Accord Plug In, and a couple others that never made the finals. The short list was the Fusion, Volt and MKZ. Now, one of the things we really wanted was the fold down seats. Fast forward to the end of the story (saga) - We are picking up the 14 MKZ tomorrow. Loaded - every option but the rear window shade (not available with the big, big Panoramic roof). After it was all said and done - this will be my first Ford product I have ever purchased. The MKZ Hybrid is the most comfortable, luxurious car I have the opportunity to drive. (Hope its not like my new golf clubs - Loved them on the range, not the same clubs on the course).
