  1. My 2014 hybrid has a troubling problem. The controls in the center console (with the display) are going crazy. Radio volume constantly changing on it's own. I set a max volume in mykey to keep it from blastin me. Sometimes I can't change HVAC settings either. And the loud crash warning flashes at me when there';s no threat. Any advice? I've read someone can fix these things since Ford has tossed me under the bus with no replacement for this. Anyone know who does this? TIA
  2. Just to get some closure on this topic - * I bought a service manual DVD and can now see what I need to do. * The FCIM problem(s?) are intermittent. The volume goes crazy sometimes. I found somethin that helps. Turns out the MyKey function can limit the maximum volume. Perfect cause when the volume randomly hit max it was blowing my ears out. Has worked so far. * Sunroof shade issue. I've found I can 'jog' the shade closer to closed by momentary pushes of the close button. Now I have to schedule a time to pull down the headliner and fix that shade somehow. Thanks for all help and advice I got here.
  3. Ah yes my problem is with the volume control. Though sometimes it affects other functions. So fix would be applied to the electronics behind the black plate below the screen. Must be the FCIM. And I'd either send that or the complete bezel to FCIM repair shop. If I would upgrade to Sync 3 now would be the time so I'd order new sync. I wonder how many mkZs are in boneyards around here. I wonder if Fusions have same hardware. Best to you.
  4. Wow thanks for that, bb. So the screen and brain is what would be sent off for repair? I'd need to buy a new one if I want to change to Sync 3? What advantages are there to 3? Next, please post the procedure to remove the pano roof sunshade! ?
  5. I will certainly look into that. Concerned now about getting it out without screwing up my dash. Downloaded a ford service app but haven't gotten it to work. Yet?
  6. OK found it at Ford Parts Giant. Seems it is available if you have $1400 or so. Ugh.

  8. Thanks for that. Yeah probably need that. Can u tell me where it is located in the vehicle. I heard that it is no longer available? That would suck.
  9. My 2014 hybrid has 165,000 on the odo. All troublefree miles. Until NOW. Problems with pano roof and not the console controls are whacked. Radio volume goes all over the place. Reallly bad when it jumps to max volume. Cant even use it anymore.
  10. Thanks for reply. Yeah it's small but still dropping. Wondering if a 'tuneup' will help? Wondering if nightmare scenario of batteries getting old might be problem?
  11. Hello. 2014 mkZ hybrid with 165,000 miles. MPG has always been around 40. Past few weeks has steadily dropped to 39.0 Any ideas why?
  12. Hey Artie! Was glad to find you here. Now if I can just get some things fixed. Great car the Z I will say.
  13. Hello. I'm brand new on this forum. My Z is a 2014 with the pano roof. The sunshade will only go back about 2 inches and the glass will not open because of this. My question to 3sacrwd is how much did the dealer charge to fix yours?? TIA
