Thanks for the prompt response and suggested sources for a replacement. I will probably have to go with a used unit. Do you have any suggestions on where to find some good instructions on how 2 remove the old one and install the replacement?

Has Ford done a special extended warranty on the middle tail light of 2013 MKZs? ( Like they did for 2010-2011-Mkz tail light issues.) I'm asking because the drivers side of mine has one dead LED and sometimes that whole drivers side of it is dark, while the passenger side is all on. I am out of the B2B warranty and the dealer wants $1,600 to replace the entire middle tail light in the trunk lid. Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

On my 2013, only the middle horizontal row of lights, light up on the middle tail light built into the trunk lid. The row of lights above them and below them never light up. not even for braking. Is that the way it works on all MKZs 2013 and up? I can see what looks like little LED light bulbs in the top and bottom row behind the lens, but they never turn on. Do they turn on in any ones MKZ?
