  1. Tell you what,if you could point to the quickest way to close this account,id be much obliged.

Ive got several different outlets looking for an answer for me.After looking up my VIN,a certified Lincoln mechanic informed me that the part # ending in "AR" is for a Ford Edge.It will not work for a MKZ.The correct module that is required and updated for my(or any)MKZ will end in"WP".Thank you for the help,hopefully i figured it out.
  4. Im sorry.But if i had an item that work for multiple platfroms,i would inform people ofthat to get a stronger selling base.No where does it say that this module is interchangeable.
  5. The programing isnt a problem.I dont wanna spend over $100 on a part that didnt come from an mkz in hopes that it works.Heres other examples as well.Why doesnt any of them say mkz if it will work
  6. Someone please help.The second photo is an ebay item(with the same part # as mine that came out of my mkz)The second photo is the actual module from my car.Part #'s are the same.Why does it say it wont work
  7. Oh man....this sounds so stupid,but luck would have it i dated the service manager of my local lincoln dealership.Shes not willing to help me one single bit.Why im on here asking questions.

Im trying to replace my trunk control module.The part number DG9T-14B673-AR.The only modules i can find(that are for an MKZ)end in "WF"or"AP".The modules that end in "AR" such as mine,are labeled to go in an Edge.Im also told part #'s need to match in order to work.I dont get it.If anyone can help....

    Trunk issues

    Well,dunno if this will help anyone,but put a scanner on it.Scanner didnt even pick up the module("option is/may not be available,check connection on scanner")So,the module isnt working period.I can find a new module,but i guess im screwed because no matter what,they'll have to flash it.And only the stealership can do that,right?Plus,they wont just flash the system for me,they'll HAVE to get their $100.00 diagnostic charge.(Apparently its the same issue as everyone else,i was just fortunate enough for the system to quit while it was disengaged,so i didnt get the dead battery)

    Power decklid

    Its a 2014.Only got 34,000 miles thoughNo warranty.Done tried all the reset procedures.Friend of mine has one of the dealer scanners that will check everything.(the local dealer want $95/hr to diagnose,but then wont tell me what the problem is.)

Heres one ive not heard anyone speak of: Power decklid worked fine until last week.Went to open it with the fob,nada.Went to the bumper switch,nada.Went to the dash button,same thing,nada.Then went into my settings under"power decklid".It was turned to "disengage switch".But it wont let me choose"engage switch".All it will do is stay on the "disengage switch" option.

    Trunk issues

    I gotcha sir.Thank you very much for your input.It had been a minute since i had been in the trunk,if corrosion occurs,could it be bad enough to seize the loop that pulls it down?(Assuming it pops up upon opening the decklid?)Im also guessing the trunk ajar sensor isnt apart of that mechanism.When i crawl thru and pop the trunk with the emergency cable,it knows that its open

    Thank you.It worked fine until yesterday morning.I dont see how it could have suddenly come up with a ground issue,or any connection issue overnight.As i said,it wont even let choose the option to enable the power decklid in the settings menu.If i cant turn that on,how can i tell if its a connection issue?

    Trunk issues

    2014 mkz 64000 miles.Trunk quit opening.Fob,dash nor bumper button will open it.Lights light up,after i crawl thru the trunk to open it,the system knows its open.Also,in the settings menu,it will not allow me to engage the power decklid.This car is a piece of shit.im considering fouling my credit and letting this thing go back.It gets 22mpg on the highway,check engine light is on because of converter,theres 4 recalls,but none of the parts are available to repair.Lincoln is junk.I guess im gonna tie a string to the emergency latch and let it hang out the back so i (and anyone else) can open my trunk.I wished i would have listened to everyones warnings.
