  1. Hey bbf - I believe he's referring to a "ride height sensor calibration" that is noted in the service manual. I'm also curious if this is something that is really necessary.
  2. Hey folks - 2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0 here. I'm replacing my shot rear shock absorbers and while the process is fairly easy there is a note on the service manual stating: "Calibrate the suspension system. Connect the scan tool and carry out the Ride Height Calibration routine." Has anybody had this process done and is this something that can only be done by the dealership? Thanks in advance!
  3. I believe the trans may have been serviced by the previous owner and simply not filled properly as I have yet to see any leaks. The level was checked at full operating temp. Thanks a lot for the help and the video. Really helpful! Take care.
  4. Hi all - performed an ATF level check this past weekend and discovered the level is below the bottom of the dipstick. After reading the service manual it states that if the tranny was removed and disassembled to fill with 6.2L and if the main control cover was removed to fill with 4.3L. No info on just a "drain and fill" cycle. Anybody have any idea what the capacity should be for drain and fill only? Any recommendations on which tranny fluid to go with? Thanks in advance!
  5. Sorry to bring up an old thread guys - is there a drain on these PTUs? Or do you have to siphon and fill from the fill plug?
  6. Seriously helpful - thanks again! I'm going with Valvoline High Performance 80W90 Gear Oil which indicates the "meets or exceeds" like you mentioned. Thanks for the links as well! Take care!
  7. Awesome - thanks guys. I appreciate it. No white trim leather seats and only have the Reserve trim level. Confident I only have the coupling torque differential which involves the regular 80W-90. Anybody have any experience using third party fluids? Would any 80W-90 work? The service manual indicates to fill 3-5mm below the plug hole - never seen this before, bit odd!
  8. Hi all - 2017 Lincoln MKZ 3.0 here. Looking for some advice on Rear Differential fluid changeout. There's nothing in maintenance intervals on when this is done yet it has a drain plug. Any recommendation how often this should be done? I also bought the car used and am unsure if I have the Driver's Package which has the torque vectoring unit differential. The fluid for this is different than the regular unit. Anybody have any idea how to know if I have that package or not? Thanks for all the help!
