Due to pandemic, my wife’s 2013 and my 2014 MKZ Hybrid 12v batteries are dying off due to inactivity. Hers is completely dead and can’t be jumped. Mine still jumps. I plan on replacing them myself. I talked to a service guy from the dealership on the phone and he said I don’t have to bring it in for them to do a battery calibration or reset after I am done. Is this true? I have read somewhere that not doing this could cause overcharging and the battery would die quicker this way.
I plan on buying some trickle chargers as well if anyone knows of good ones for our particular cars.
