  1. Hello All! I write to gather information from more experiences MKZ drivers. I bought my 2012 MKZ base last winter as a CPO vehicle, but unfortunately it was immediately hit by another vehicle. While it was heavily damages (full frontal impact that wasn't my fault) the car was not totaled and the warranty remained intact. I didn't get the car back until Spring since it was so heavily damages and took a long time to fix. Since I am unfamiliar with the MKZ's "winter habits" I had a few questions before I took the car back to the service department. --When you first start your MKZ in the morning after a cold night, does the RPM needle jump around? My cars RPM needle jumps from 3K down to about 1.5. --Secondly, if I'm in a rush and leave within about 2-3 minutes of starting the car, the car goes into drive or reverse with a slight pop and seems to "moan." It does not do this once it's warmed up, but does this whenever it's cold. In fact, I hear a noise that I can only describe as a rattling/whirring noise when the car is put into drive or park while it's still cold. Dumb question, but is this normal? I have noticed that with cold weather, the car is a bit sloppy. By this I mean that the car is ultra sensitive and jerky upon the first 4-5 minutes of driving. :( I apologize for any "dumb" questions. I am simply trying to understand if these behaviors are normal "cold weather" quirks of the car, or rather more serious functions of the accidents damage. As I said, the car was REALLY heavily damaged but the insurance companies involved would not total the car.
