So I did do some checking at least asking from the dealers I talked with. They said the battery has a 8 year warranty or 100k warranty on it. So you are right with 80k of miles on it that could be a problem.

Hi all, I am new to the forum and considering getting a 2014 MKZ Hybrid for my recently graduated son.... I have never owned a hybrid before is there anything that I should look out for with the batteries and any gotcha's to consider with that model? In another post they suggested for sure doing a PPI and looking for oil pan leaks, timing chain cover leaks, and extensive wear on lower arm bushings and shocks. Anything else? The ones I am looking at are around 80k miles driven. Thanks for your feedback and input!!
