  1. Thanks! I was absolutely wondering. I figure it might play into any chances or Ford reconsidering in the future to sell them here, I don't see a long line of people to get a car from the CCP, I agonized long enough over getting one made as a residual of the NAFTA jobs plan. They way the "nice sedan" world is shaping up, it looks like my eventual MKZ replacement car will be a "foreign car" made in the US rather than another domestic name made in a foreign plant. I really love my Z, but nothing last forever.
  2. I agree. The new front is interesting, but they near ruined the tail end. The side is a little busy, but true to the last Conti sedan. Personally, I got the MKZ because I didn't like the side chrome doodads on the bigger one. Are these going to be built in Mexico or China? Maybe the Chinese Division would be interested in building a plant in the SE United States like some other countries have? ?
  3. Very true, Back when I had a Caddy STS, I lusted after the "China only" SLS version that was a few inches longer wheelbase and had nicer interior touches and some red LED/clear lens details in the rear. Must be for all those Chinese families driving coast to coast on vacation, that didn't want to squeeze into Buicks. ?
  4. Heck, ya never know when your or someone else's actions could make you, "in the market, again". I know if my 2017 24k miles 3.0TT Pano-roofed sweetie got hit by a meteorite tomorrow I'd either have to find a super low miles 2020 MKZ or accept Ford's wisdom and take a close look at a new Kia or Genesis. To Ford-"Homes don't want my green, homes don't get my green.".
  5. Forgive any possible post mortem equine beating, but the only sticker that matters is the one put on your joor jamb as the car is built. Various tire brands, sizes, vehicle weights due to drivetrain and anything imaginable can affect things, but the sticker is for your car as built and shod, and even lists the tire size in case a different wheel/tire size may be on the vehicle now. I have the same 19" tires on OEM rims as you, except I use 18" aftermarket rims & snow tires for the winter months, so I use 36 PSI (cold) for them due to the larger air volume/taller sidewall.
  6. Just curious, is your, "cold" on the cold side or warm side? When I have them at the sticker's 38PSI cold and the overnight/morning temp is low to middle 40°s. They still go into the low/middle 40s PSI on the highway. Car runs great at the 38psi cold and I wouldn't change it, just wondering what the starting temps are for you usually.
  7. I've heard the same as bbf regarding the dealer-sold replacements being the same as the ones installed during the build. Sadly, that doesn't mean much to me, as (luckily) my 3~3½ year old OEM battery died from a bad cell at around 18k miles. Lest anyone think I don't know how to maintain lead-acid batteries, I went to classes at C&D batteries regarding forklift batteries back in the 80's and with multiple cars and motorcycles I own several 1.2A Tenders and a couple of 4A max with high freq massaging. Still got the original AC Delco in my 2007 Solstice GXP, though I'll finally replace it this year since it won't hold 13.6v for more than a day or two, thinks it should get a blue ribbon for 13.2 ?
  8. Personalities aside, just wanted to add a real-world example from yesterday & today regarding the tire monitor display. Yesterday I changed the snow tire/aftermarket wheel set for the OEM wheel set of non-winter tires. Before putting the warm weather set on I checked & adjusted the pressure from sitting in storage to the 38 sticker PSI for the stock 19" set. It was an exact 38psi cold according to both my mechanical dial gauge and digital gauges. The car displayed 37psi on all four tires, which is not unusual for these cars. Actually, I consider it excellent, because all tires read the same pressure, and that's what I need to know when detecting a tire going down. This morning it was in the low 40psi compared to mid 50°s when the car read 37psi. Accordingly, the car read all four tires at 35psi, cold. Enjoy your fine car, and go by the door sill sticker cold psi in my opinion. don't be surprised to see them showing over 40° on a hot day, especially on the highway, and yes, your MPG should have gone up vs the underinflated tires. EDIT and when we finally get into the 70°s, 80°s and more, I'll have to let some out of the tires to get down to 38psi in the mornings. ?
  9. Personally, I think it's for the dealer to decide. If I were the car's owner, I'd be talking with them about what nice Lincoln they were going to pull off the lot for my loaner, and suggest they not call me until my car was fixed. Then perhaps look into my State's lemon laws to see if there's a certain amount of days I should be counting down before FOMOCO has to cut me a check for my car. Assuming I can make a valid case that the car has a defect that must be repaired and was under warranty when brought to the dealer, I'm out of it. They can give me a loaner and they should go find some smart/skilled people to take over for their people.
  10. At least they understand their shortcomings and are willing to admit they have exceeded their capabilities.
  11. Shot in the dark here, so take it as the WAG it is, but, I seem to remember reading about a procedure to teach the pano roof to it's correct home position. Maybe it's the glass that's actually the problem?
  12. Tire Rack site doesn't seem to like having a link to a product copied & pasted, I'll try again https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Vredestein&tireModel=Quatrac+Pro&partnum=44YR9QTPXL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Lincoln&autoYear=2017&autoModel=MKZ 3.0T AWD&autoModClar= But it's the 245/40 R19 98Y XL Quatrac Pro
  13. Yes, it's recommended, and got great reviews, also meets the requirement regarding load, speed, exact size, etc. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Vredestein&tireModel=Quatrac+Pro&partnum=44YR9QTPXL&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Lincoln&autoYear=2017&autoModel=MKZ 3.0T AWD&autoModClar=
  14. Looking to replace the OEM Mich mxm4 with only 20k miles on 'em and the Vredestein (never heard of them) 245/40R19 came up highly rated according to Tire Rack reviews and feedback, and at probably the lowest prices I've ever seen for these rating tires i.e. Extra Load, 98W. Seems I must be missing something, but I know you DON'T always "get what you pay for" as the OEM tires show. Anyhoo, I have separate mags & snow tires currently on the car and don't care about snow rating. Just wondering how these Vredestein are holding up from those actually running them. I don't mind being a guinea pig if they're unknown, since they're almost free at $161 shipped. I didn't mind paying good money for known good winter tires (Blizzak) but I'm open minded to anything lower priced than the usual "track day rated" super-whatever soft as a gum eraser because I'm looking mainly for mileage and wet/dry touring. Thanks!
  15. Agreed, I'd go farther and say any of those tires will be better than the mxm4 if you drive.
  16. I'm guessing it makes sense compared to what a Lincoln sedan used to look like?
  17. Excellent, thanks for the pix and descriptions. I'm sure you'll make several people very happy when they consider doing it ?
  18. Your results and tread life are about the same as mine-dismal. I rotated front to back at 8k & 16K. Car's only got about 20k on it and when I pull the 4 snow tire & aftermarket wheels off next Spring to return the OEMs, it'll already be with two new tires because the ones that spent about 12k on the front don't have enough tread to bother with. Easier to just drop them off for new skins while the Blizzaks are still on the car. I prefer to swap the sets myself because it gives me a chance to take a good look at each corner with the wheel removed and look for any possible road object damage, mic the rotors and measure the pads, etc. FWIW, tire wear on all four was even and as good as any car I've owned, the tread just went away too soon IMHO.
  19. Thanks bbf, that jives with what I recall from the different pressures used in 15" and 16" Buick LeSabre tires, with the larger wheel (shorter sidewall) using higher tire pressure. I'll drop my four 18" Blizzaks down from the 38psi of my 19" OEM and see if they still ride ok. I have never seen a sill sticker with the wrong pressure for the listed tire size, so I'd still appreciate if any 18" owner would glance at the sticker psi and comment here also. Thanks again, bbf!
  20. OK, how about any year/engine/drivetrain MKZs with OEM 18" wheels? What are your sill sticker's tire PSI recommendations, please? TIA ☺
