  1. Zaino Polish. I use it on everything. It's amazing. So worth it! https://www.zainostore.com/product/Z-5.html
  2. I found out 6 months ago my heated steering wheel was not functioning. The touch screen shows it working but it does not heat up. I hardly use it but it does come in handy in the winter. I found out today that is is due to a short in the wiring inside the steering wheel and to fix it, its an entire replacement of the steering wheel. Over $1,200.00 just in parts and who knows what the labor would be. I chose not to mess with it. I'm fine without it. I'm only going to keep this car another year... I'm not dropping that kind of money on something like that. I can imagine the labor bill matching the price of the parts or worse.
  3. "It is entirely possible this issue is related to the new struts/shocks which were installed ~6 months ago. Were you aware that Motorcraft Service/Maintenance performed by Lincoln (and Ford) Dealerships have a two year warranty? I would recommend making a service appointment with the same Dealership that installed the new struts/shocks. If the problem is related to the work performed previously, it should be covered under the Motorcraft maintenance warranty." You are correct. It is a bent rear shock which is covered under warranty. The shock has been order from Kansas City and will take 5 days to arrive. Maybe I will be getting to put on this Saturday. Thanks for your help.
  4. Six months ago I had a Lincoln dealership replace my struts at 75,000 miles. After getting that repair paid off, I bought new tires from Discount Tires. After talking to the tire salesman, I asked if there was a slightly taller which would provide a better ride. He suggested the 245/45-R19 Yokahoma Avid Ascend GT. They are a slightly taller than the Michelins I had been riding on. Not only do they look better, they ride a hundred times better. Super quiet and smooth. A few weeks ago I started experiencing a warning on the dash. "Driver Control Malfunction". When the warning pops up the car the rides super stiff. Even more stiff than in Sport Mode. It's now gone from happening only a couple times - about a month apart, to now every time I get in a go anywhere. More so in town than on the freeway. If I drive over any slight imperfection in the road it causes it to malfunction. I can not change the selection in the menu once the warning has happened. After the car is restarted, the suspension resets itself and functions fine until I drive over anything slightly rough. Then it throws up the Malfunction Warning and it starts all over. So I have been on the net trying to self diagnose what the issue could be. I have learned these electronic suspensions are all calibrated. So I am thinking could the new tires being a slightly larger size be what is causing this problem? Instead of putting on 245/40-R19 tires I bought the 245/45-R19 Yokahoma Avid Ascend GT. Or it could be a bent strut or a bad MCU Module. I have tried to find just exactly what is the MCU module and I am unable to find anything on it. Has anyone else experienced this? I would really like some info before hitting the dealership.
  5. Now that it has been a couple years, how does it hold up? I'm really wanting to do this to mine.
  6. This past week the Fake Engine Sound reoccurred during my morning commute several times. So I made an appointment and took the a MKZ in. They kept it two days only to tell me they found nothing wrong with the car. Chalked it up to possibly being due to the high heat we’ve had this summer here in Texas. Are you kidding me? What a joke. At least they didn’t change me for not finding anything wrong with the car. I’m positive this well happen again. I want to get it resolved. So if I purchase this tool to take a look at the ACM... I hope I can make sense of what it’s telling me so I am able to either rest it or deactivate it.
  7. On the drive home my blower motor gave up the ghost. Not fun because it’s already 98 degrees in Dallas. It has been acting up off and on for the past couple of days. It would speed up then slowdown or not blow at all - then full speed. I watched this video online for a Fusion blower replacement and it seemed simple enough considering the dealership quoted me $275.00 as an estimate. The Ford house had one in stock for $121.77 plus tax - which came to $135.45. 2 year replacement warranty unlimited miles. Here are a few outlines steps and the a link to the video on the Fusion. I can’t believe how simple this was. I had it completed in 12 minutes. And the new motor is whisper quiet! 1. Motor the passenger seat back as far as it will go. You will need the room. 2. Using a light, look up under the glove box area. Gently pull down on the flat tray going back to the firewall. It pops straight down with little effort. 3. Disconnect the LED light attached to the panel. Pull the panel free from the firewall. 4. Look up and see the blower motor. There are 3 screws holding it in place. 5. Disconnect the power connection to the motor. 6. Remove the 3 screws. Motor now will drop down. 7. Replace old motor with new. And insert the 3 screws to hold it in place. Connect the power connection. 8. Start the car and run thru all the blower speeds. 9. Return the flat panel to its position and connect the LED light. Enjoy the breeze blowing out the vents.
  8. Has anyone done this themselves? I have searched the net and found a video for the Ford Fusion but not the Lincoln MKZ. Would it be the same or at least similar? Mine is not keeping a consistent speed and sometimes take a few seconds before it starts blowing and making a strange noise. And my second question is, Ford Parts want 125.00 for this part. O'Reilly has one with a life time warranty for 84.99. Which would you buy? I replaced one a few years back on my LS and purchased it from O'Reilly and it was louder than the factory motor before it went out. Just wondering if they are all like that.
  9. Well I am not thrilled to report my Fake RPM Sound is back. It happening every 10 seconds now. The past couple of days I shut the car off, opened and closed the door to simulate leaving the vehicle. started it back up and the Fake RPM Sound stopped. Like it had reset itself. Today however this did not work. I looked up what the Audio Control Module (ACM) is and that appears to me more work than I am willing to mess with. I really do not want to pay to have this worked on but it looks like I probably have no choice. To add to my frustration, the blower motor for the Climate System seems to be acting up too. This car is starting to cost quite a bit to maintain... I should have purchased an extended warranty.
