  1. ok, well, never mind.....i got 'em. lakeside
  2. ahhhh......nope. technologically challenged (ie, over 66). but you should be able to visualize what i have done. and a photochopper couls easily photoshop the changes. by the way.....the zephyr is looking very fine! lakeside
  3. hmmmm..... well, ok, here's an idea- maybe oneof you mkz owners would want to dress down the front end bling and trade for all black zephyr fog light surrounds?????
  4. so my "personalization" of my '06 zephyr continues. so far i have painted those hideous chrome sideview mirror covers merlot. today i began painting the brushed aluminum sections of the front grill flat black. the appearance should look somewhat similar to the 2010, 2011 sport model grill, with just the slim chrome verticle bars showing in the chrome grill surround. now i am looking for the mkz foglight housings- think these may be called bezels. on the mkz these have round chrome rings around the opening for the actual foglight. don't need the lights, just the passenger side housing. anyone have an extra or one off a wreck? shoot me a price.........and thanks! lakeside.
  5. so, as it says.....anyone had occasion to remove a sill plate (you know, the ones with the brushed chrome lincoln and the black plastic surround)? these are not the illuminated optional ones (sigh). if so, how? any assistance would be appreciated. previous owner apparently tried to glue back the brushed chrome lincoln, succeeding in getting glue all over it and it basically looks trashed. driver side of course so i see it every time i open the door. yuck! thanks in advance......lakeside
  6. very nice. the grey is elegant. good job. you might consider going a little further with your personalizing- my zephyr is merlot. so far i have added some subtle dark gold pin stripes and have painted the outside mirror covers merlot, getting rid of the chrome. i am also toying with- -painting the chrome trim under the windows black -doing some painting on the grill. i don't mind the thin verticle chrome bars, but the brushed chrome sides are a little much from some angles. merlot would be so much better. get clues from the lovely custom mk/zephyrs you can find by using google. i would very much like to add a rear trunk lid lip, but find the ones currently on the market to be too short.....that is they only go across the actual trunk lid and don't extend out over the body edge. they look wrong to me somehow. back in the day, there was a manufacturer who produced what apparently was a one -off trunk lip which was longer. the car was white and quite stunning. i am looking for that lip! keep going and keep posting up your progress pics! this site is pretty lonely! lakeside
