  1. Called dealer. It’s covered. Just need to make appointment (2 weeks out) and secure a loaner. Going to get the steering wheel bolt recall done at the same time)
  2. I am a tire retailer. We cover TPMS sensors if we break them (rare). Tire techs at dealer are schooled the same as tire shops. It’s all in the tire machine they use. Our new machine uses a sensor to locate the TPMS sensors to avoid damage. Personally, I’d trust a shop that does tires all day long rather than a dealer BUT, that said, sometimes dealers sell tires cheaper than “tire shops” believe it or not. Shop around, let the tire shop cover the replacement of a TPMS sensor is they damage it(rare to occur)
  3. FWIW, 2015, white LED DRL’s, can be deactivated via driver settings in dash. I prefer the white, but that’s me. Good luck in your quest.
  4. True, good point. Bummer is the 2 week wait (appointment back log) to go to a dealer close to me and the logistics. Boss’ son is a tech at local dealer, but I don’t have a back-up car. Rental reimbursement is available by CPO though so...we’ll see. Thanks for the advice Izzy
  5. Cindy Lauper? WOW. You’re showing your age(80’s teenager here). Thanks for the info!
  6. Tuxedo black. I got the hazelnut seats/door arm rests. The contrast is very rich. I love how the heavy metallic flake makes it pop in direct sunlight, and hides the swirl marks, but at night it is absolutely pitch black.
  7. Just my luck. Got gas for only the second time since buying it. Gas door spring must have broken. I am going to have to fix this myself as I am sure the CPO warranty won’t cover it. In the mean time, I used Velcro to hold it shut. Holds it quite well actually. I am just bummed... 10 days in, something broke. I’m going to assume previous owner damaged it and it was either rigged by dealer, or hung on for 2 uses.
  8. Awesome! Thank you!!! Added to cart!
  9. Gotcha... I’m still learning. Sometimes we get answers to questions we don’t even know we have yet. I.e. “where is the radar for the cruise control located?”
  10. what are you guys using for a sun shade when parked? Or a dash mat? I know a speaker parked right under the windshield is a recipe for cracking...I use those 2-fold out sun shades but the windshield is so long they hardly reach the sun visors. I was thinking of a dash mat, but hate to cover the speaker...especially my beloved THX-II speaker!

    Trunk

They have remained unchanged since the 90's. I was missing one so I grabbed one off a Mark VIII parts car we have. Just like Dino stated....it hooks a trunk net in place.
  12. 2015 Lincoln MKZ "Reserve" package with 3.7 V6 AWD Tuxedo Black and Black/Hazelnut interior. Black Ice MKZ After its first "home bath". it rained for a few days after I bought it, so that "new car" shine was gone....until now. I wash, then use "wax-as-u-dry" spray and a 'Absorber' Chamois to dry. I use Eagle One ultra-shine tire shine, and Mothers "Back to Black" aerosol on the lower grill and rear bumper appointments. Funny how I just noticed that only 2/3 of the lower grill is actually "open" to fresh air...must be part of the "grill shutters" set up. Results: One of the best parts of this car's styling Tuxedo Black heavy metal flake is amazing My two-tone interior with Hazelnut seats, console panels and door panels/arm rests
  13. I went with chrome spline locks...
  14. they are very closely related to the MKZ as a driver and for all the latest bells and whistles. The Mark VIII had so many "firsts" for the industry. IMHO, the MKZ fits the bill for a sophisticated machine that pleases the driver with power/performance, handling, driver-satisfaction, luxury, style and over-all design. the MKZ is more reposnsive, but the lower back TORQUE when getting on the freeway is nearly identical, except we have more forward gears. MPG is about the same.
  15. Thank you!!! I absolutely LOVE your MKZ!
  16. So, new owner here...2015 MKZ 3.7 AWD Love the exhaust note, but I'm a gear head and drag racer and would love to add a little "Muscle" to the MKZ sound. What exhaust mods have any of you done? Just looking for mufflers...I'm in California, so mods are restricted to "non-emission system" modifications. any sound clips?
  17. My last car had 35 on all windows...I am glad I dont have to watch every cop now to see if they notice. My 15 MKZ was already tinted using 3M when I bought it, but just the rear 5. I need to get the fronts done soon as it doesn't look right...thinking 20% so as not to be so paranoid. Tuxedo Black
  18. I like the "all black" and the "only inside/chrome surround" The 'every other" looks to "Honda" to me...but I'm old Not sure how much it will match the tuxedo metal flake though...but I do like the look. The car you chose for your experiment is a Black Label with "center stage" theme...seen a couple for sale...nice.
  19. yea, that is about my only gripe with the MKZ...the seats. Sure they hold you in well, and the cooled/heated option is FANTASTIC but the lower cushion could be longer for better thigh support and they could use a little better padding. But what it lack in those 2 areas, it well makes up for everywhere else. My girl rode in the back and said the rear seats are more comfortable than the front. Since no one else drives my car, I'll never know. hahaha
  20. I re I restored a '73 Alfa Spider 2000 years ago...her name was "Sprout". My friend's dad when i was growing up had a Giulietta spider and her license plate was "ROMEO N"....Romeo n Giuletta
  21. 2015 V6 AWD name is Black Ice MKZ for a few reasons: 1)I am known as Black Ice LSC on Mark VIII forums...and have been active since 2003 when I bought my first Mark VIII = a 1994 Black/Black one. I've had 6 mark VIII's through the years. I have "been around" as they say, and forgot more about them than most will ever know. 2) My username has sort of become my identity through various forums for 15 years...my Youtube channel, emails, etc. 3) when I saw the metallic flake in the Tuxedo Black, it was obvious I should just morf my original user-name and add the MKZ, as the paint literally looks like it has ice crystals in it when in direct sun. 4)plus at my age, it will be easy to remember my username (lol)
  22. Glad to be here. I've been browsing the web for forums, but mostly returning to my Mark VIII/ Lincoln forums and asking other owners for info before making my purchase. Last Saturday I traded in my 2006 mercury Grand Marquis on a 2015 CPO MKZ V6 AWD in Tuxedo Black with hazelnut seats/console inserts. the rarity of this color combination really intrigued me as I knew I wanted black but was looking for the two-tone interior and most were light tan/brown.. I am a service manager at an auto repair shop and did not want to track grease in to the MKZ so the darker interior suits me yet I loved the contrast a two-tone interior gives. Then I found my MKZ at Ford-Lincoln of Fairfiled. But that's not where it started. I was originally going to buy a 2016 2.0T eco-boost in magnetic metallic with the lighter interior. The car only had 27k on it but it was also 3 hours away. I was afraid to drive that far and get the shaft on my trade-in. I pondered the drive for days....and days....and days. as I pondered, I started to really consider the V6. Not needing or wanting the AWD option (looking more for fuel economy) I talked to a Ford tech who convinced me to at least drive 40 minutes out of my way to go see/drive the V6. For just a few MPG difference, I might really enjoy the horsepower of the V6. I am a gear head and drag racer, so this advice really sunk in. Yea, sure...fuel economy is important. But so is driving pleasure. The 2.0's fuel economy would not "pay for itself" with the sticker price difference of the two cars (v6 was $2k less) I cleaned the Merc, and headed out. Long story short, I drove home in the 2015 and was literally fist-pumping as I left...and I am in AWE of these cars. I had never driven one. I just wanted the looks, the bells and whistles, adaptive cruise, lane departure, self-parking aid (just to have it, right?) but more importantly, the options: THX-II sound, heated/cooled front seats, heated rear seats, Tuxedo Black, dark interior, and a sunroof. Sure the panoramic roof would have been a bonus, but the most important part for me was the previous ownership....this one was a lease return, 1 owner, non-rental with 35k on the clock. so, here I am...a forum junkie with a new car(to me)...I will be asking a lot of questions, and within time, I will be answering even more as I learn and share. I am known as Black Ice LSC on many Mark VIII forums, and spend most of my time answering questions and helping folks. Glad to be here...let the new era of Black Ice begin.
