  1. Hello, I have had this problem on my 2017 MKZ. I purchased it for a small private dealership. In the first 5 weeks of ownership the drl in the headlight assembly quit working. I took it to my local Lincoln dealership and they told me the headlight assembly was replaced with the incorrect one. And Lincoln would not cover it under warranty. Seems there are several headlight assemblies, but the correct one is dependent upon the trim level and options. Cost from Lincoln for mine was $1600 new. $1500 used on the internet. I contacted the small independent dealership that I purchased it from and after some pushing on my part. They agreed to pay for the replacement. Remember that the front bumper assembly will need to be removed to replace the headlight, so I would have a Lincoln dealership run your vin and get the correct part # and see if you can find one at a local salvage yard or something. Hope this helps, let us know how it goes.
  2. Thanks for the response. It sounds like there must be a problem with the system. I am not unfamiliar with automatic climate control works, and understand what you are saying but if I set the temp to lowest temp or highest temp the auto setting for med and high are still the same speed. Example, I get in my car after work and its sunny outside, very hot inside the car, if i set the temp to the lowest temp and cycle through the auto fan speeds low, med, and high. The fan does change between low and med but high is the same speed as med. High never gets close to max fan speed. If i turn the dial up one click while fan is in auto lo. The second led lights up and screen says fan speed 2. If i turn the dial up 1 click from auto med 4 leds light up screen says fan speed 4. If i turn the dial up 1 click from auto high 4 leds light up screen says fan speed 4. Thats with the temp control set to coldest setting or hottest setting. I hate taking our lincolns to our 2 local dealers with or without warranty. They never have a loaner vehicle and take forever to do anything. A typical oil change will take 3+ hours, with an appointment set 2 weeks in advance.
  3. Hello all, I just purchased a 2017 MKZ reserve. I had a 2013 and loved it. My question is about the auto fan control settings. Of the 3 settings low is low, but medium and high speed are the same blower speed. I can manually change speeds with the dial but that defeats the purpose of auto. Has anyone else had this issue?
  4. Hey all, first I hope everyone is well. I found a failed A/C compressor on my 13 MKZ 2.0. Does anyone know how difficult it is to remove and replace. The replacement compressor is $249 and that is new o.e.m. I have an A/C service machine so removing and recharging the freon is no problem. I just don't want to tear into it and find out I can't do it on the ground in the garage. Thanks for any advice or help.
  5. I know I have ambient lighting. But i want to add a lincoln logo puddle light on each footwell. I only want it to come on with the dome lights. Like footwell lights would.
  6. I don't see any footwell entry lights on my 13 mkz. Are there any? If not where can I tap into the dome light output to add some.
  7. I have a 2013 loaded MKZ. Does anybody have a 2013 list of forscan mods that are successful? Info on what will work, what might work and what years, is very confusing. I would like to disable the no key detection honk, and add TPMS.
  8. I tested the battery it tested very good. Today when I started it, it went throught its normal start up procedure then 5 seconds later did it again a second time thought the start procedure. Strange to say the least.
  9. Thanks for the idea. The jeep we traded in was the exact same way. I'll test the battery, as I have no idea how old it is. I know it's not the o.e. battery, it's a napa battery.
  10. We recently purchased a 2013 2.0 AWD with 57000 on it. Yesterday at separate times I got, "adaptive cruise control not available." Then later in the day I got "check adaptive headlamps." I'm starting to worry we got a car with electrical gremlins. That scares me because, as a car guy I know how hard electrical problems can be to diagnose and fix. Has anyone here had any issues like this? FYI I tried searching the forum for these issues but didn't really find any threads pertaining to these problems.
  11. Hey all, my wife and I just purchased a 13 2.0 AWD, with 59k. It has a drive line type vibration not all the time, but I can detect it most of the time at about any speed. Gets fairly bad sometimes. Dealer (non lincoln) says it's the tires that are flat spotted from sitting. I'm not very confident in that answer. I know this can happen but it has almost new toyo proxes s4,s on it and supposedly nitrogen in them. Any advice on what this issue might be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
