  1. Finally got my MKZ back yesterday. Fresh oil change and they replaced the sensor that controls the wastegate and the other controlled the EGR system. It was weird because I opened the Lincoln Way app on my phone and I could tell the work was done because it showed all the codes cleared and the oil life set back to 100%. Sure enough about a half hour later they called to say it was ready. Pretty cool to have that app. I didn't know it would read the car's status from so far away. As much as I had fun with the loaner BMW, it sure was nice to get the MKZ back. I can confidently say that Sync is far better than i-drive!
  2. Well, just heard from the dealer. They found two failed sensors. The one that controls the turbo wastegate and a vacuum sensor. They have parts on order and the car should be ready tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. Meanwhile, I'm kind of digging this 2020 BMW 330i rental.
  3. Do you have an aftermarket alarm or stereo component installed? Those can be notorious for parasitic battery drains.
  4. I would need much more detail to even have a hope of telling you what to check. If you still have warranty left, you should maybe try a different dealer. Otherwise, I would suggest finding a reliable shop in your area so you can get a proper diagnosis.
  5. Now taking guesses when I will get my car back. When I made the appointment, I was told "a day or two". When I dropped it off I was told "3 or 4 days". Apparently, like so many other businesses these days, the dealer has more service work than they have technicians to handle it.
  6. Well, talked to the dealer and they can't look at my CEL until Monday. I have an appointment for tomorrow for an oil change but no Techs available on Saturdays. And they said they would need it at least two days. The good news is Lincoln has agreed to supply me a rental car until mine is done. But I will be without my MKZ until at least Tuesday evening.
  7. Seems unfortunate I don't even have 30k on the odometer and already my MKZ is throwing a code. P1013 Code - Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Park Position Bank 2 Good thing I'm still under the bumper to bumper warranty.
  8. Separate winter tires aren't an option for me. Already have them for my wife's BMW 228i....no more room for storage at our condo. BTW....the RWD-based x-drive system in the Bimmer works much, much better, and with the winter tires it's really good.
  9. Well, I finally got to drive my AWD in the snow. Still has the factory original Michelins and they are horrible. Granted they are a bit worn, but they were horrible in the rain and even more horrible in the snow. So I can get going easily enough, but turning or stopping can be downright scary if you're not careful. My overall impression of the AWD system, however, is that Lincoln dialed in too much front wheel drive bias. I wish they would have programmed the system to send more torque rearward faster. I know some of it is the crappie Michelins, but it understeers quite a bit and generally behaves a little too much like the front wheel drive system it is based on. Maybe I'll like it better if I get some new tires on it.
  10. Yes, same in this area. Some dealers have cars and shoppers and some not so much. But using a site like Car Gurus, you can see inventory age and price drops, and you can find relative bargains.
  11. Actually, for the prudent shopper there are still deals out there. The other strange thing going on is that many dealers have no one shopping at them. So there are used cars sitting on lots unsold.
  12. I bought my 2018 2.0 AWD Reserve, very well equipped with 23k miles in July for under $26k. Right now it has 29k miles and KBB trade in value is $29.5k. Seriously. I can sell it wholesale and make money. If you know anything about the car business, you know how crazy that is. There has never been a time like this before. Ever.
  13. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new ride....and power. ;)
  14. Yes. This is happening on many late model, low mileage used vehicles in the low to mid price ranges. It is crazy.
  15. Yep. Prices are up for all used cars right now. They are up so much dealers are marking up new ones over list price, too.
  16. Congratulations and welcome to the fofum.
  17. Obviously it was not properly diagnosed otherwise you would not still have the problem. Have you taken it back to the dealer? Honestly, it sounds more likely a bad sensor or electrical connection. You might want to try a different dealership.
  18. With current supply chain issues there are many products where you can't get a delivery promise. Your situation is not unique. I would tend to think you are stuck waiting.
  19. Welcome. Nice car. How you enjoy it for many years to come.
  20. My car's twin. Beautiful car at a good price. Good luck with the sale!
  21. Since the issue seems to have started after your drain and refill of the cooling system, I think it likely you have air in the system. You do need to bleed the air out of the system when you refill it. Try Googling for the proper procedure.
  22. I just had this happen to me at work. I also managed to have the trunk open up. Don't know how long my car was sitting there wide open.
  23. You can order tools for popping the clips, but I would probably do it by hand. If some break you can get replacements at NAPA. A little white lithium should quiet it down, unless you have the motorized lid and it's the motor making the noise.
  24. Oh, I need one of these. Thanks for posting the link!
  25. Yea....my wife has exclusive naming rights, too. Our BMW convertible is Helga.
