  1. I use Lexol, and always have. All of my cars have leather interiors and the seats look impeccable in those cars, despite them being older with more miles.

I owned a Mazdaspeed 6 for about 7 years and never had the kind of wear showing here. That car also had a white leather interior.

Y wife is the primary driver and nowhere near able to cause this kind of wear. That said, I will try again to clean it but I truly believe there is a defect here..

  2. Thinking this might be a bit excessive for wear based on the car's age, how it's cared for and the purported quality of the leather used by Lincoln...This is the driver's side upper bolster, outside portion even...

Please tell me your thoughts. I haven't called Lincoln yet...

  3. 91 is all that is readily available in my area, but I can get 93. I can even get 100 race fuel but I think that would be useless without a tune to use it properly.

I will say that I have noticed a performance difference between 91 and 93, in sport mode. Like the RS I had before this, and my GT350 now, the performance characteristics change considerably.

I have my GT350 tuned by Lund, and when running E85, the car picks up some considerable power. I'll look to do this with the MKZ a little later down the road, after my little PTU scare, I want to be sure the car is well-sorted before I go messing with warranty coverage. It sees close to 60 miles per day and other than that one incident, it's been rock solid so I'm not TOO concerned.

As for MPG, I see about 17-21, average use.

FWIW - I had a 3.0 FWD as a loaner and I would ABSOLUTELY spring for the AWD with this car. The power felt similar in take off but you can easily tell where the power overdrives the front wheels in it.

  4. Yes. I called and reported my issue to the advisor and asked for a pick up. That has to be scheduled in advance, just like booking a loaner does. For me, and the dealer I am working with, that was three days out. It could have been sooner he told me, but the previous user backed into something and messed up the bodywork pretty good.

As for my issue, they told me today it's an intermediate shaft seal that went bad. They couldn't find anything else wrong. I'll have the car back by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Happy to report the 3.0 in FWD feels pretty darn peppy too. lol

  5. I believe the car I bought two weeks ago, with a current 6300 miles on it, has this problem. I found a puddle of red fluid on the ground the other day in the garage where it was parked and again a few spots after moving it. Looking under the car and boom, red fluid. Yikes.

My RS somehow missed this PTU thing. Maybe this is karma. lol

I called the dealer and they can't pick it up until Thursday. I don't really need the car for another two weeks so I'm ok with it, but if I did, I'd be a little miffed. I thought the service piece was one of the big selling points? They told me I could bring it in myself and pick up a car that had some body damage, why would I want to do that? lol

  6. Ill take a close up shot tomorrow. I was wrong, it's not painted. Couldn't feel the tape at first but I definitely felt it the second time.

Yes, there is a small star there. The stripes are black and silver

  7. Very nice, I hope it's more than you expected.  From reading your other post, it sounds like it gave you a good first impression.

    Congrats.

    Thanks Gents!

I did. More importantly, My wife loves it...(that means she'll leave my GT350 and Cobra alone, haha)

It'll be great for those long trips we take to see family...Tune is definitely on my mind...we'll see!
