  1. Remember folks, this didn't apply to every MKZ that was made. Mine was made in early 2017 and doesn't seem to be affected either. Only certain vehicles made in specific plants. For those that are recalled...just pay close attention to the feel of the steering wheel...if it feels lose, then you should panic!
  2. Does your steering wheel feel loose at all? I would imagine that before it "detaches" a driver would feel that it's not exactly on very tight...there may be some slight movement or wobbly sensation.
  3. I just logged in to my Lincoln service page and it says there are no recalls on my vehicle. The https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/website also says that there are no recalls. I guess my car is in the clear!
  4. So I heard that there's a major recall from Ford because the steering wheel could detach while you're driving causing you to lose control and crash. My Lincoln app says I have no recalls, but the year is correct. Are we sure our Lincoln MKZ is safe to drive?!?!?!

  6. To be honest, I've been looking for that "adjustment" since it came home. I did find a rubber stopper under the hood that you can turn to raise or lower, but all that did was make the gap go from enormous to just really big, and at the bottom of the adjustment, the edge of the hood sinks too low on the far edge of the headlight housing. No, it seems like the fascia needs to actually come up some more and not that the hood needs to come down any more.
  7. Here you can really see what I'm talking about. Look at the difference between the two sides! Does this look normal to you guys???
  8. Actually, and I know this sounds ridiculous, but my Lincoln dealer wanted to do the work and I had previously brought two cars to the other Ford dealer, which happens to be a mile from my home (the Lincoln dealer is about 15 miles away); and both times the Ford dealer did extraordinarily spectacular work, so I insisted on bringing the MKZ to them. Mind you, the paint job to the fascia is indeed perfect. It looks outstanding...just like I expected! It's the reassembly that I have the issue with. They had removed the front fascia, grille, headlights, etc, to perform the work, and when reassembling it, it didn't align the way it did before. The manager said I just didn't remember the way it looked when I brought it in 3 days earlier...that it always looked like that...and that Lincoln's consistently have this issue. What he doesn't know is that I have the photographs from the selling dealer of MY CAR that I purchased and it doesn't show the gap!!! No, this car is going to the Lincoln dealership and I want them to re-assemble everything to factory standards and bill the Ford dealer for the cost. Just need to make the appointment to do this and be sure that they have a car for me to use (which they have to anyway). If you're wondering why the car needed the work, it's because it was from up north where they have front license plates...Florida doesn't and when the plate holder was removed it left these four gigantic holes in the front fascia, with a bunch of scratches all around it. Now, those are undetectable!!!
  9. Thank you MKZMark! Those are unequal, but not radically so like mine. The pictures you show are barely noticeable...but I notice the gaps standing way in front of my car. Thank you so much for taking the time to do that!
  10. Thank you for the replies, folks...I will measure and show pictures of mine later today. The one on the left looks relatively normal (like the one in the picture in the reply above), but the one on the right has a huge gap that the tip of my finger literally slides into...and I know that's not the way it was when I brought it in for the minor repair. It was a Ford dealership's body shop and when I brought this up to the manager of the shop, he was the one who said that Lincoln does a poor job when their vehicles are made (implying, I suppose, that it's separate from Ford). This is annoying enough to me to bring it into my Lincoln dealer and have them take a look.
  11. I've recently noticed that the gap between the hood and the front fascia (painted part between the grille and the headlight housing) is uneven on my MKZ; the right side is much wider--enough to stick your finger into it--while the left side is reasonably snug. I know it wasn't like that when I got it, but after having some minor repair made on the bumper, this is the way I got it back. The shop tells me that this is the way Lincolns are made...with uneven gaps. I'm not buying it! Does anyone else have uneven gaps in front???
  12. Actually, Colinsz, my console shows that the Sync version installed in my Lincoln MKZ is v2.0...perhaps that's why the customer service agent cautioned me that the upgrade is so important. I'm several versions behind I suppose!!!
  13. I had a major problem with getting the Lincoln Way App to work when I first got the car. I called customer service 844-324-2351 and they worked some magic and got it to work perfectly. But, they also cautioned me that Sync 2.0 needs to be updated or else it will have problems from time to time. I haven't been able to update the software through Wi-Fi and don't have the time to do the thumbdrive update. For now, it's working fine though.
  14. Very beautiful MKZ there! I just got mine and considering the R1 coating...mine is Ruby Red...looks great with just wax but I wonder if the ceramic would be better.
  15. Thank you, Izzy!!! Nice color on yours as well. I fell in love with the color combination of Ruby Red exterior and Cappuccino Interior. It's so nice to see the dark brown and cream color. Whoever designed the color co-ordinations did very well. Even the wood accents are a perfect match! :-)
