  1. I don’t mind the auto-shutoff, but I do mind the Sync update not working!
  2. The car isn’t bad in snow - your tires are!
  3. My car won't take the 2.3 update. I've tried USB and WiFi, car running and in acc mode. I discovered that my car will actually shut itself off if I leave it on long enough.
  4. My interactions with the service dept have been good, with one exception: the return of my car. Maybe they're out-of-practice because of the valet pick-up/drop-off, but twice I've witnessed/experienced unnecessary delays in getting cars back. The lady in front of my was visibly irritated when she was told her car hasn't been washed yet and she'd have to wait for it to be brought around. She asked if she could just go find it, but was told no. I wasn't in a hurry, but I had to wait as well. When I get my car, it was double-parked away a few rows away, was dripping wet, and a trip to a real carwash immediately after the dealer "wetting" wasn't a waste of time. Is this standard practice as Linc dealerships? It seems like washing (and drying) the cars before or after they're serviced would be a better strategy and easy fix. If it rains or snows after the car is done, it really won't matter.
  5. This is a very common problem. Interesting info in the thread below. I'm not sure it applies to the MKZ, but I'm hoping. http://lincolnmkzforum.com/topic/1513-auto-start-option/ Mine have been behaving better lately, so I wonder if toggling the remote seat heating feature off and back on again is responsible.
  6. I'm just guessing here, but I suspect that ECO mode can only help under specific circumstances. In my case, I'm accustomed to hybrid driving styles (including strong regen braking) and I live in a climate with extreme temps. I don't expect ECO mode to help me much. (maybe in summer, but I'll over-ride it if I need lots of air-con) Another issue is that acceleration isn't a top enemy of hybrid economy. Hydraulic braking is, but ECO doesn't have much influence over that - brakes have to work when you need them!
  7. Interesting. Mine feels like a different car in each mode. In ECO, mine launches in EV and regen is aggressive. It feels like I'm pulling a trailer. With ECO off, the ICE will start much sooner and with less aggressive regen, the car will coast further. I'm not sure ECO increases efficiency for me, but I've been driving a hybrid for 9 years and probably have muscle-memory for efficient driving anyway.
  8. It's been working for the past few days. Very random though: sometimes it's both seats, sometimes it's one or the other, and it isn't always on high either. This morning the driver seat was warming, but the wheel and the passenger seat weren't. I'll ask to have it re-programed at the next service.
  9. So, this is not true of my 2017. It's an easy thing to check. MKZ brake lights are bright, so just travel down an unlit street, preferably with items like street signs or mailboxes along the shoulder. Look in the mirror when the regen circles come on and you'll be able to see if your brake lights are on or not. Since first finding this thread, I've been watching other MKZh's on the road for what would appear like excessive braking. I haven't noticed it, so either: few people use eco mode, or a software/model update has changed that interaction. Does anyone know?
  10. My seats won't come on in remote-start either. I've turned the setting off and back to auto. Shutting down with seats on or off has no impact. Ambient temps this week have been single-digits. The heated wheel IS activated however. I recently had a '16 Premier 2.0T rental car. It didn't have a heated wheel, but I noticed that remote-start wouldn't heat the seats in that vehicle. It was set to "auto". I mentioned this to a friend with a '15 Fusion Hybrid, and he said his stopped working. When he looked at settings, his are greyed-out/missing. I mentioned this to my salesperson, and she said her personal MKZ also isn't heating the seats with a remote-start. Does anyone know what's going on? I'm pretty bummed - this seems to be systemic. It's one the features I was most looking forward to over my older Fusion Hybrid. I wanted to leave my HVAC off for remote starts so I could heat the seats remotely without excessively burning gas.
  11. I haven't compared economy with the mode on vs. off, but there sure is a difference in feel! I wonder if there's an bigger impact during air-conditioning season.
