  1. Had two issues with my 2014 CPO - passenger mirror had a mind of it's own after rain or car wash and radio cutting out/buzzing. Nearest Lincoln dealer is 13 miles away and had a two week backlog on loaners. Have had very good experience with local (1.5 mile) Ford dealer Quick Lane (05' TBird & '14 MKZ) for oil and brake service so I call about service dept. doing warranty work - here's where it got a little weird. Had loaner available but needed to "diagnose" problem before authorizing. Took car in, got ride home. 2 days later problems diagnosed and loaner available. Picked up loaner and was advised mirror replaced & problem with radio was a part that was not covered under warranty. Big debate over where in "exclusions" the part was listed but they (Lincoln) agreed to cover part of it (not sure why - and I was ready to duke it out with Lincoln's customer relations manager post repair). 2 days later was told the non-covered part was not the problem and the amplifier had to be replaced ( I kind of figured it was the amp). Everything covered under warranty and only $100 deductible applies. I have no issue with the Ford dealer, car is fixed and they seemed to have done a lot of phone work with Lincoln to resolve issues etc. This is my point - it seems Ford sees Lincoln's warranty as more of a 3rd party product - different process, policies, necessary approvals etc than Ford's. Felt like they were not that happy to work on a Lincoln CPO. Maybe it's me or just my particular repair issue but I would not use a Ford dealer for warranty work again if it can be avoided. They (Ford) seem to be too much of a middleman in the process.
  2. I have a 2014 3.7 and I don't have any kind of economy gauge that i can see. Just avg mpg when I click fuel economy. Weird.
  3. I have the 3.7 in my 2014. Mileage is fair to poor around town. Ok on highway.
  4. Went to local Ford Quick Lube for oil change yesterday. They did recall and never told me until I paid. "It's only a small bolt - only takes a minute" per the advisor. Saved me some time as I had an appointment at Lincoln later this month.
  5. Got my recall notice in the mail today. 2014 MKZ. Says it's a half day job. Will be making appointment in Chicago area, hopefully not too far out on calendar.
  6. Re throttle lag - no issues other than from reverse to drive. Standing start in D or S no lag. Have the lag since purchasing car. Frankly, my recently traded A6 did the same thing - drove me nuts. I think the A6 was drive by wire as you could not brake torque the car - gas pedal went flat for a couple seconds when you let off the brakes. (I need to try to brake torque the MKZ and see if similar issue)
  7. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue: Backing up out of driveway into street, stop, put in Drive and the gas pedal seems dead for a couple seconds before moving forward. Drive by wire issue or a throttle response issue?
  8. Just finished our first road trip in the 2014. Chicago to St Louis and back. Biggest surprise is I love the adaptive cruise control. I thought it would be an annoyance, keeping me from getting too close to the car in front. Instead, it was more like an intro to autonomous driving - the car literally drove itself in terms of speed. Too close, slows you down and maintains, car moves over to right lane, brings you back up to preprogrammed speed. No more hit brakes, slow down, hit resume when clear - a must have for highway driving now that I've experienced it. Probably old news on this forum but new to me. I need to work on seat positioning as I did get a little lower back fatigue at the 4 hour mark or so. Got 21.6 mpg, mostly 75 - 80 cruising down 55.
  9. 26.3 mpg!!!! How in the world do you do that. I'm lucky to get 15 around town and 22 on highway. Totally in awe of your driving technique.
  10. I've had my 2014 3.7 for about three months now, and have several loves and hates - love the keyless entry, remote start (Chicago weather), steering wheel paddles for downshifting to pass, etc., driving comfort, fairly quick, looks great clean (Black car). Hates - proximity sensors occasionally go off seemingly at random, right side mirror has a mind of it's own, turn signal way too loud, 14 mpg in town, can't keep heated steering wheel / seats "always on", I kind of miss the shifter. But after 3 months I do not miss my old A6 at all. The MKZ is a nice car but black on black - have to wash/clean it almost every day! (Delta Sonic car wash is around the corner)
  11. Hello, new 2014 owner here. Certified, 30,000 miles. What is it with this unlock feature - It's driving me nuts. Sometimes I can walk up to the car and use the handle, sometimes it won't budge. I'm trying to find the pattern but seems like this thread proves it's random. This issue and seemingly random chimes from proximity sensors (for no apparent reason) are frustrating.
  12. Hi, new MKZ owner here. 2014 certified V6 AWD BoB. I'm very interested in installing these lights but I'm a little confused - are they an OEM bulb assembly from a 2015 or aftermarket? Seems like you could just install the driver side if one wanted to.
